Manners Monday Manners Monday

Each Monday, we will focus on a manner that we feel is important for our students to know and use.

Learning manners can help build strong relationships, improve communicaiton, and avoid misunderstandings.

Here are some other reasons why manners are important:

  • Improving relationships
Manners can create a positive environment where people feel valued and appreciated, which can lead to stronger relationships. They can also help people appear more confident and develop good habits that improve their overall well-being.
  • Being successful
Manners can help people prosper at work, earn the trust of others, and set them apart from competitors. They can also help people develop communication skills and build rapport.
  • Teaching respect
Manners can teach children respect and help others respect them. For example, saying "thank you" shows appreciation, and saying "please" shows thoughtfulness. Manners can also help children display gratitude instead of entitlement.
  • Making people feel comfortable
Manners can help make it easier for people to feel comfortable in social situations and prevent people from crashing into one another.
  • Being helpful
Manners can include being helpful and courteous, such as lending a hand to others when you see someone is in need. This could be as simple as offering help carrying something or holding a door open.

At Young Elementary, we believe that if you do the small things well, you are more likely to do the big things well.

This week are are focusing on..... This week are are focusing on.....

Character Traits Character Traits

In addtion to learning manners, each week we will also focus on character traits. Teaching character traits can help students develop positive personal traits, moral and ethical compasses, and the skills to navigate a complex world. It can also help students become better citizens, more confident, and more resilient.

This week's character traits are.... This week's character traits are....
