Message From the Principal-

It’s a great day to be an Eagle!

What a fantastic week it has been at Eagle Ridge! It’s hard to believe it’s already March, and we are quickly approaching Spring Break. Each week, I am reminded of the incredible community we have here—students, staff, and families all coming together to make our school a place of learning, kindness, and growth.

I want to shine a special spotlight on our student mentors. I have been so proud of how they are working with some of our students, serving as a guiding light in their lives just as someone has been for them. The passion, care, and connection they bring to their mentees each day is truly inspiring. Their efforts are making a lasting difference and exemplify the very best of Eagle Ridge.

The excitement around our upcoming Science Fair is contagious. It’s amazing to see the creativity and ingenuity so many students are putting into their projects. I can’t wait to see all the innovative ideas come to life and to celebrate the hard work and curiosity that our students bring to this special event.

I am also thrilled to share my excitement for Ms. Sanger, who will be taking over as our principal at the end of the year. I know she will do an exceptional job leading Eagle Ridge, and I am confident that with her guidance, our school community will continue to flourish in every way.

Thank you, Eagle Ridge families, for being our partners in this commitment, working alongside us to raise our students to accomplish great things. Your support, encouragement, and dedication make all the difference, and we are so grateful to share this journey with you.

With gratitude and excitement,

Doug Humphreys

Last Day of School- DATE CHANGE Last Day of School- DATE CHANGE

February 24, 2026

Dear DCSD Parent and Guardians,

We have some exciting changes coming to the Highlands Ranch High School, Mountain Vista High School, and ThunderRidge High School feeder schools next year. As you have likely heard, we are consolidating six elementary schools into three, and we are moving sixth grade to the middle school level.

In order to help our teachers and staff get ready for these transitions, elementary and middle schools in the three feeder systems will end the current school year a day earlier than scheduled. The last day of school for the 2025-2026 school year will be Thursday, May 28, instead of Friday, May 29.

This is only for the elementary and middle schools listed below.

NOTE: Our high schools will remain on the original academic calendar and will not end a day early.

Highlands Ranch HS Feeder Schools

  • Cresthill Middle School

  • Acres Green Elementary

  • Arrowwood Elementary

  • Cougar Run Elementary

  • Eagle Ridge Elementary

  • Fox Creek Elementary

  • Lone Tree Elementary

Mountain Vista HS Feeder Schools

  • Mountain Ridge Middle School

  • Bear Canyon Elementary

  • Copper Mesa Elementary

  • Heritage Elementary

  • Northridge Elementary

  • Sand Creek Elementary

  • Summit View Elementary

ThunderRidge HS Feeder Schools

  • Ranch View Middle School

  • Coyote Creek Elementary

  • Eldorado Elementary

  • Roxborough Primary and Intermediate Schools

  • Saddle Ranch Elementary

  • Stone Mountain Elementary

  • Trailblazer Elementary

Thank you for making note of this change to the academic calendar. This extra day will greatly help our teachers and staff manage this transition, including packing up their classrooms and coordinating moves to new buildings, where applicable.

Should you have any questions about this date change, please contact your school principal.

Sincerely,

Douglas County School District
