THE BEARESSENTIALSWeek of March 23, 2026

Hello Bear Families Hello Bear Families

As we look ahead to April, we want to share important information about upcoming state-required testing for our 9th through 11th-grade students. These assessments are required by both the state and our district, and all students are expected to participate on their assigned testing days.

Below is our testing schedule:

9th Grade
April 8 PSAT 9

10th Grade
April 9 PSAT 10

11th Grade
April 8 SAT
April 9 WorkKeys
April 10 M Step

In the past, students who were not scheduled to test remained at home. Due to recent legislation, this will be changing this year. Students who are not testing will attend school virtually in the afternoon, following this schedule:

1st hour 1:00 to 1:10
2nd hour 1:10 to 1:20
3rd hour 1:20 to 1:30
4th hour 1:30 to 1:40
5th hour 1:40 to 1:50
6th hour 1:50 to 2:00
7th hour 2:00 to 2:10

On Wednesday, April 8, 10th and 12th-grade students will attend school virtually according to the schedule above.

On Thursday, April 9, 9th and 12th-grade students will attend school virtually according to the schedule above.

We appreciate your support in ensuring your student is present, prepared, and ready to do their best on these important assessments. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Next week Monday through Wednesday (3/23, 3/24, and 3/25), students will be working on their Educational Development Plans, also known as EDPs, during their Social Studies classes in the LMC. They will have the opportunity to work closely with their counselors and teachers to review and update their plans in Xello. This is an important time for students to reflect on their goals and continue planning for their future pathways.

On Tuesday, March 24, at 6:00 PM, our Administrative Team will welcome incoming freshmen and their families to Roosevelt High School. This is always a special evening as we introduce new students to our school community and begin building excitement for the year ahead.

This past week students were given information on signing up for their classes for next year. The course selection sheet does require a parent signature. If you haven't already, please speak with your student about the courses they are planning to sign up for. Course requests are due by Thursday, March 26. They can be turned in directly to the counseling office or to students' Social Studies teacher.

Thank you for your continued support of our students. We are looking forward to a fantastic week together as we count down to Spring Break!

Go Bears!

Apprenticeship Wall Unveiling Apprenticeship Wall Unveiling

Tuesday, March 24

We are excited to invite you to the unveiling of our new Apprenticeship Wall, a resource designed to connect students and families with valuable opportunities in the skilled trades.

The Apprenticeship Wall serves as a gateway to a wide range of career pathways, providing direct access to apprenticeship programs, detailed information about each opportunity, and links to application resources. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to expanding post-secondary options and helping students explore meaningful, high-demand careers.

Please join us on Tuesday, March 24 at 5:30 PM in the Roosevelt High School Cafeteria for a brief introduction to this new resource. Following the presentation, we will visit the Apprenticeship Wall together so you can explore the opportunities it offers.

This event coincides with our Freshman Parent Night, and we look forward to welcoming both current and incoming families. For those unable to attend additional opportunities to view the Apprenticeship Wall will be available at future school events.

We hope you will join us for this important step in expanding career pathways for our students.
