Hi SCA Families!

It has been a fun-filled week here at SCA! Homecoming Week is always such a special time because it is about so much more than football and competition. It has been wonderful watching our students show their spirit and individuality through our fun dress-down days and activities throughout the week.

SCA traditions are the memories and experiences our students will carry with them for years to come!

During P.E. this week, our students had the opportunity to practice their motor skills while participating in “Rock the Boat.” I have even heard about weddings and other celebrations where adults continue to gather together and keep this tradition alive! Things like this may seem silly to some, but these are the little traditions and experiences that our children remember. They become part of what makes them Chargers and create a sense of belonging that is unique to our SCA community.

This weekend will be busy and fun! Let's remember to be safe, enjoy the festivities, and celebrate some friendly competition!

God Bless and Go Chargers! ❤️🖤⚡️

Kane Hall Update

We have some exciting news to share! We received the latest update from Pro Studios, our general contractor, and it looks like our Kane Hall classrooms are scheduled to be completed on October 9! 🎉

As of now, our plan is to begin moving into the new Kane Hall classrooms October 13–16. We are so excited to finally see this project come together and, most importantly, to have our students and teachers in their new spaces!

We know this construction process has required a lot of patience from our SCA families and staff. We truly appreciate everyone’s support as we have worked through the many moving pieces along the way.

We are also excited to celebrate the completion of the Kane Hall project along with the updates to our church! Once both projects are finished, we will be hosting a special SCA community event to celebrate all of the wonderful improvements to our campus. More details will be coming soon!

We are getting close! Thank you again for your continued patience and support. We can't wait to celebrate with all of you!

FORMS RETURNED TO SCHOOL

Just a reminder, all forms and money turned into school must be labeled in an envelope with exact change. Please do not paperclip money to a form. We do not keep money in the office to make change. Extra money in any envelope will be donated to our Guardian Angel Fund. All forms that are for different events or purchases must be in separate envelopes with separate payments. Any combined forms will be sent back home. Thank you for your understanding.

Hot lunch is back!

We offer you lunch options from different restaurants each week on Wednesdays. Please make sure you log in to https://www.myhotlunchbox.com/ and update your child(ren)'s profile. This is especially important for some grade levels to ensure that their lunch is there when they are! If you're a new family, please go to the website and create a new profile for your child(ren). Each child needs to have a separate profile. Ordering closes at 12pm on Monday each week, but you can order weeks in advance if that's convenient for you. If you have any questions, please contact Cara Hanrahan at hotlunch@scaoaklawn.org.

Open Houses

Monday, October 5 from 6-8 p.m.

Sunday, November 22 from 1-3 p.m.

Families will join a student-led campus tour, meet our faculty, staff, and coaches, and learn more about academics, athletics, activities, scholarships and discounts, and life at Marian.

8th Grade Super Shadow Day

Monday, October 12 from 8:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

Students will be paired with a current Marian student and spend the day getting a real feel for life as a Spartan. They’ll attend classes, have lunch together, participate in games and activities, and connect with other prospective 8th grade students throughout the day.

We’d really appreciate your help sharing these opportunities with your 8th grade students and families who may be interested in Marian. Whether that’s through a newsletter, parent communication, counselor outreach, or simply passing the information along, any help spreading the word means a lot to us.

Families can learn more and register for Open House and/or Super Shadow Day at mchs.io/visit.
