Cougar Chronicle
April Weekly Update ~ April 10, 2026
Welcome Spring, Welcome 4th Quarter
A note from Mr. Lee
Testing Spotlight
We want to take a moment to recognize our 8th grade students for the incredible job they did on the PSAT. We are truly proud of the way they showed up, stayed focused, and took pride in their work. They embraced the challenge, supported one another, and represented Carter with class. We talk often about doing hard things, and our 8th graders lived that out. Great job, 8th grade!
Next up, our 6th grade students will take part in their RISE Days with MSTEP testing on April 22nd and 23rd. This will be a normal school day for all other students, but we will be organizing our schedule a bit differently so that all 6th graders can test together in a focused environment.
We are aware that Take Your Child to Work Day falls on April 23rd. While we understand the value of that experience, we are asking that all 6th grade students are present for their scheduled testing. If families would still like their child to participate in Take Your Child to Work Day, the best option would be to attend after testing is complete. Students may be picked up from the main office after 11:00 AM.
Thank you for your continued support in helping our students be prepared, confident, and ready to show what they know. We can do hard things, and together, we will keep building on this momentum.
Mr. Lee
Special Remarks from Mr. Syswerda
PSAT
Carter 8th graders, we are proud of you! Today, April 9th, you showed what it means to do hard things and rise to the challenge. You came in focused, gave your best effort, and crushed the PSAT. Keep believing in yourselves….. great things are ahead!
