2025-2026 Ohio School Report Cards have been released
With the release of the 2025-2026 Ohio School Report Cards, ODEW is offering trainings to help you effectively navigate the data and its associated processes. The trainings are two hour virtual sessions that provide focused in-depth learning on single topics. The first session on September 23, 2026 from 1:00 - 3:00, will provide a high-level overview of the calculations included in the Ohio School Report Cards, what they measure, and review tools and resources for accessing and analyzing report card data. Additional information on this and future sessions as well as registration links can be found HERE.
Ohio's Regional Tech Prep Centers are now Career Pathway Support Networks
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, in collaboration with the Ohio Department of Higher Education, is transitioning the work of Ohio’s Regional Tech Prep Centers to Career Pathway Support Networks (CPSN). This initiative is backed by a $7.1 million grant designed to strengthen regional CTE infrastructure and ensure more Ohio students are prepared for in-demand careers and receive high-quality career advising and mentoring. The North Central Ohio Educational Service Center (NCOESC) will lead the Northwest Ohio's Career Pathway Support Network region. Their website has several training opportunities, a monthly newsletter with information and updates, as well as contact information for the consultants and coordinators in our region.
If you would like additional information on what's next for K-12 Career Advising, there will be an informational session on October 1, 2026 at the University of Findlay from 9:00 - 12:00 explaining Ohio's career connection framework, why it was developed, and new tools designed to support schools and students. Download flyer and register.
Changes to How Industry Recognized Credentials (IRCs) Count Toward Graduation
Effective July 21, 2026 ODEW changed the requirements on how Industry Recognized Credentials (IRCs) will count toward graduation. Starting with the high school class of 2030, each student using industry-recognized credentials as a path to graduation fulfills the requirement when they earn either a single approved standalone credential or an approved bundle of credentials.
In preparation of these changes, the Career Pathway Support Network Northwest Region will be hosting IRC Redesign Overview and Next Steps sessions covering the changes, key tools and processes and important considerations for next steps. The first virtual session starts September 29, 2026. For additional information, dates and registration information click HERE. Questions can be forwarded to Aaron Weisbrod, Career Connections/IRC Consultant.
