Dear Coppell Choir Family,

We hope everyone stayed safe and warm during this crazy week! With no school Monday–Thursday due to the ice and light snow, we appreciate your flexibility as we get back into the swing of things. ❄️

In-Class Solo Performances:
These will take place only for students who were absent on their assigned performance day or who have not performed yet. If this applies to you, be prepared to perform during your next choir class period and make sure you are dressed appropriately.

Region 31 Solo & Ensemble Contest:
The contest will take place THIS SATURDAY, January 31st. Please check the schedule carefully. If you have a conflict, it must be reported using the Google Conflict Form by Thursday, January 29th, @ 4PM. Be sure to arrive at least 20 minutes early for check-in. Once you finish your performance, you are free to leave.

UIL Rehearsals:
Please continue checking the choir calendar for upcoming UIL rehearsals. These rehearsals are required for all students, so plan accordingly.

Thank you for your hard work and flexibility this week—we’re excited to be back together making music after our unexpected winter break!

The UIL Solo Contest will take place on Saturday, January 31st, at Coppell High School 🏫🎶

Thank you for your prompt attention to this important deadline.

Make sure you are ready to perform your in class solo on the day you are scheduled.

Your grade will be following the following Performance Rubric:

• Pitch & Rhythm - 20 points

  Accurate and well centered pitches with clear and clean rhythms throughout.

• Musical Expression & Stage Presence - 20 points
  

  Appropriate dynamics, articulations and phrasing in appropriate musical style. Strong and relaxed singing posture throughout without fidgeting . Exudes confidence and appropriate facial expressions.

• Performance Etiquette - 20 points
  

  Proper introduction: Singer's name, Title of piece, Composer/arranger.

  Singer bows at completion

  Acknowledges accompanist

  
  

• Performance Attire - 20 points

  Business Casual / Sunday's Best (NO jeans, t-shirts, shorts, hoodie, flip-flops, tennis shoes, sandals, etc.)

  
  

• Memory - 20 points
  All words, pitches and rhythms are sung correctly 100% of the time from memory.

Volunteer Communication Update
We wish Mrs. Conkovich all the best as she begins her maternity leave from September 15th to December 12th! We’re excited to welcome Mr. Lee as her long-term substitute!

During this time, our amazing VP of Events, Kit Ciura and Mary Alvarado, will serve as the Volunteer Coordinators. Please keep an eye out for emails from vpevents@coppellchoir.com for all future volunteer communications, and feel free to reach out to them directly with any questions about volunteering.

If you would like to become a choir sponsor or would like to gain more information regarding becoming a choir sponsor, please click on the line below for more information.

Parents have to opt in for health-related services as mandated by law. The clinic will not be able help them if this is not complete. If possible, please share this link with students and parents. Parents are asked to complete a separate consent form for each student enrolled in CISD. The form is also linked on the CHS Website under Health Services Consent form.
