Staying Connected & Planning for the District's & Arcadia’s Future
As we look ahead to the future of our schools, district leaders are engaging in important conversations around long-term strategic planning, district optimization, and budget planning. I encourage you to read the first issue of Looking FORWARD—a new monthly update from Superintendent Smalline. This issue highlights how Greece Central is evaluating our facilities, expanding opportunities for students, and keeping our community informed every step of the way. Click the link above or the button below to explore what’s ahead and learn about upcoming opportunities for parent input!
Online Absence Requests Are Back for 2026–27! 📱
As many of our Arcadia families know, our school helped pilot the Absence Request tool last year—and we’re excited to share that this convenient feature is officially rolling out district-wide starting October 1!
Since Arcadia parents already have experience with the process, you can continue submitting upcoming absences (doctor appointments, sick days, family events) directly through your Infinite Campus Parent Portal with just a few clicks—no phone call needed.
Quick Reminders:
Need a Refresher? Watch this quick Greece Absent Request Video Tutorial to see how it works.
Portal Access: Primary guardians who still need to set up their portal account should check their inbox for an account creation email sent on September 17 (don't forget to check your spam folder!).
Your Choice: While online reporting saves time, you are always still welcome to call or email our attendance office whenever you prefer.
Thank you for helping us pioneer this tool last year! If you have any questions or need help logging into your account, please contact our main office.

Principal's Back to School Bash Community Message
Dear Arcadia Families,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our campus-wide Open House! Having approximately 1,000 students, parents, and community members fill our 6–12 campus brought an incredible energy to our halls.
It was wonderful seeing our families connecting with teachers, exploring classrooms, and stepping into the new school year together. Moments like these remind us how lucky we are to have such a dedicated, supportive community behind our school. We are deeply grateful for your continued partnership and so excited for an amazing year ahead!
Make sure to watch our recap video all the way to the end to catch all the best highlights and see the amazing things Arcadia has to offer our students.
Special Note for 9th Grade Families: Keep an eye out for details coming soon regarding our Quarter one 9th Grade Family Night—we look forward to seeing you there!
Thank you again for making our Open House such a memorable success.
Warmly,

Students now can be marked absent, early dismissal, or late arrival in the parent portal!
Students should be called in or electronically communicated through the portal for absences or early dismissal as soon as possible.
Students who are absent will be considered as having chronic absenteeism, missing 10% or more of school. This can have a drastic impact on your student’s education.
Research shows that school attendance can predict graduation even better than test scores.
