Superintendent Update
November 7, 2025
Cliff's Notes
Dear Bedford Public School Community,
At next week's school committee meeting on Thursday, November 13th, I will share important updates from both the Anti-Hate/Bias Taskforce and Healthy School Hours Working Group. It has been a privilege to work with both of these groups, which represent the best of our community---thoughtful, diverse, creative voices working together to improve the learning environment for our students. I will also provide the committee with additional information about the FY27 budget development process and seek their feedback on next steps. As always, we appreciate the community's longstanding support of our schools.
Best,
Cliff Chuang 莊 宏 毅

With federal SNAP benefits paused due to the government shutdown, Bedford Public Schools Nutrition supports all families by ensuring free, nutritious breakfast and lunch are available to every student each school day. View school menus here: bedfordpsmanutrition.org. Additional information about other food resources can be found at here. Please do not hesitate to reach out if your family needs support. If your family is able to give support, please consider donating to the Bedford Food Bank. Thank you for working together as a community to support each other during uncertain times.
Beginning the week of November 10th
Beginning this fall, Bedford Public Schools will be administering BPS School Climate Surveys
to staff, students, (Gr. 3-12), and families twice each year. This survey is a key tool in advancing Bedford’s 2024–2027 Strategic Plan (see strategic initiative 2.3) and supporting our three strategic objectives. Staff, families, and students grades 3-12 will participate. Full instructions and links to take the surveys can be found at BPS School Climate Surveys. We deeply value your partnership and look forward to using this feedback to build even stronger, more inclusive schools. Questions can be directed to Assistant Superintendent Dr. Kelly Williamson: kelly_williamson@bedfordps.org.

We are excited to invite you and your family to our second fun-filled afternoon of bowling and socializing hosted by the Parents Diversity Council (PDC) and the Bedford METCO Team! This special event is designed to bring the communities of Boston and Bedford together, providing a wonderful opportunity for children to interact and have fun. We would love to see as many of our students and their parents there as possible! It will be a great time to watch the kids enjoy some friendly bowling, along with tasty snacks like pizza and sliders. In order to help cover a small portion of the costs to reserve the location, we ask each family to RSVP and pay a $30 per family fee. This will help ensure we have enough space for everyone. We truly hope you take advantage of this opportunity to connect with other families, enjoy some quality time, and have a blast! *NOTE - the deadline has been extended. Please RSVP and submit your payment by November 5 so we can prepare accordingly: PCD/METCO Family Bowling Party We look forward to seeing you all there for this exciting community event!
