The Westgate Wire

We have seen an increase in student illness this winter. To help keep everyone healthy, please keep your child home if they are not feeling well. Students should be fever-free for at least 24 hours and free from vomiting or stomach issues before returning to school.

We would also appreciate your help in reminding students to wash their hands regularly, as this is one of the best ways to prevent the spread of illness. Thank you for helping us keep our school community healthy. 🧼🙂

Front Circle Drive
Our front circle drive traffic pattern is shown below. Vehicles should proceed south on Dwyer, enter through the south entrance, follow the arrows around the circle drive, and exit at the south end of the drive. Please note that left turns into the parking lot and left turns out of the parking lot are not permitted during this time of day.

Back Parking Lot and Grove Street
During arrival and dismissal, you may:

• Park on Grove Street or a neighboring street and use the crosswalk at Grove and Dwyer to walk your child to or from the door. Please do not cross the street at the parking lot or at Harvard.

• Park in an open space in the back parking lot and walk your child to or from the door. Please be sure not to block cars from moving through the parking lot.

Please do not drop off or pick up your child in the bus lane on Grove Street between the parking lot and Dwyer Street.

Please know that the placement process for all of the Westgate students is extensive and well thought out. To that end, it is important to understand that requests for a specific teacher will not be considered, as allowing parents to request teachers puts a significant strain on an already extensive process. All staff members are committed to providing the best education for your children. This form is to be completed by Friday, April 10, 2026.
