A Few Words From the Principal

I am looking forward to May! As the saying goes, "April showers bring May flowers," with all of the rain we have received and is predicted, we should have beautiful flowers everywhere in a few weeks.

This week was Administrative Professional Week. We are so lucky to have three amazing ladies who support all of us everyday. The next time you call or stop by to drop something off or pick your student up please take a few extra minutes to tell them thank you!

eSports Club

Our MTMS Rocket League team ended our season yesterday "undefeated." We only lost one match because I didn't understand how to use the website matchmaking software properly, so we ran out of time, forcing a forfeit. Ever since week 1, Mason M. and Lesson B. have swept up every opponent team without even dropping a single match in a set of best of 3 matches. They even played many of their games 2 players versus a team of 3 players! I am excited to see where our team ends up next season and beyond! We placed 13th out of 67 teams in our league, but in my mind, we should have been 1st!

Mason did an excellent job as team captain. He took the charge of organizing the online matches and coordinating our team players. Leeson joined our team and brought a lot of talent to get goals. At times, Leeson was one of the top 5 scorers in the whole league. Luke B. and Trent T. rounded out our team and I want to see how they perform more next season. Jorey G. and Gavin A. played with us at the start, but were unable to continue since the Rocket League team started playing from home to use the consoles that they were comfortable on. I appreciate Joery and Gavin's efforts to show up to practice and support our team.

Mr. Schaffer's 3rd hour Pathways class has been building a living wax museum.

Students have researched a famous historical figure and brought them to life through costumes, a physical presentation, and a short speech.

Some of our other classes were able to walk through the "wax museum." Students walked in, pressed a button on the wax figure’s hand, and watched them come to life through their presentation!

Teacher and Wolf Cart Supply Drive Community Service

For this semester's community service project, we are planning a supply drive to support a crucial part of the MTMS community - our teachers.

The PTA recently surveyed the teachers asking how we can better support their classrooms. We heard back from 38 teachers with examples of supplies they need for their classrooms and put together an Amazon Registry that you can shop from and send directly to the school, to arrive no later than 4/28!

https://www.amazon.com/registries/gl/guest-view/3N821O230G3GB?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_ggr-subnav-share_763XN4MFSYYSX5C8TWBK

The most requested items:

Tissues

Pencils

Sharpies

Dry Erase Markers - Colorful

Stock the Wolf Cart

Snacks

Handwritten notes from students

If you'd rather purchase an item from the list on your own and bring it to the school, you are welcome to do that as well. Please send any donations to the office by 4/28.

One other note - Teacher Appreciation Week is starting May 4th, and we've heard from teachers time and again that something that is really meaningful to them and makes them feel appreciated is a genuine note from students. If you're not able to donate supplies, please consider a note to let your teachers know how much you appreciate their hard work!
