Head of School Updates

With so much happening at Sussex Academy right now, I would like to keep my message brief.

We are looking forward to finishing the final days of school on a positive note. Please continue to communicate and reach out with any questions or concerns as we wrap up our best year yet together!

We can’t wait to celebrate the Class of 2026 at Commencement, set for 6 p.m., Friday, June 5 at Seahawk Stadium. For those who can’t attend in person, Sussex Academy will livestream the ceremony at https://www.youtube.com/live/OJyOrcYnmZw.

Want to play varsity football while attending Sussex Academy? Join fellow Sussex Academy students on the ESC Bucks, a homeschool varsity football program competing against teams across Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia. The league is open to students attending schools without an affiliated football team.

Pre-season practices begin in August. All practices and home games are held at Greenwood Mennonite School and/or Delmarva Christian. The program offers high-level varsity coaching with a strong emphasis on athletic development, leadership, teamwork, and personal character.

Registration is now open at escbucks. Early registration rates apply through August 1. No athlete is turned away due to financial need; scholarships are available to ensure participation for all interested players. Questions? Contact fcabucks@gmail.com

As we wrap up a truly fantastic school year, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our entire community for your dedication, hard work, and support. It has been an absolute privilege guiding and watching our elementary students grow every day. As we approach the finish line of this beautiful school year, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to this incredible community. Thank you so much for showering our staff with your time, donations, and love!

Because of your overwhelming generosity, Staff Appreciation Week was a massive success. Our team was spoiled with delicious lunches almost every day, sweet treats, beautiful flowers, and so much encouragement. You truly made everyone feel valued and celebrated.

We are finishing the year off incredibly strong! Between the excitement of our Field Day festivities and the extra caffeine boost from the staff coffee you provided, our team has all the energy they need to wrap up the year on a high note.

Thank you for partnering with us and making Sussex Academy such a special place to be. We appreciate you!

We look forward to celebrating our 5th graders at their Moving Up Ceremony on Wednesday, June 10, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, which will also mark their final day of school. Students are encouraged to dress for the occasion in either nice casual attire or their standard school uniform.

Attention Seniors and Senior Parents:

Please remember that on Thursday, June 4, we will have a Senior Breakfast provided by Starboard from 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM.

Following breakfast, all seniors are required to attend Mandatory Graduation Practice from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM.

Attendance at graduation practice is required to participate in the graduation ceremony. Please arrive on time and be prepared to stay for the entire practice session.
