Spring Conferences
At Camelot our aim is to enhance the conference experience and provide valuable insights into your child's progress with a two-night format.
- Tuesday, February 10 from 4:00-7:30 - Staff Requested
Classroom teachers have sent out requests to learner families for those they would like to connect with. This evening, the team of teachers that collaboratively work with your child with meet with those to discuss needs/supports and successes. - Thursday, February 12th, from 4:00-7:30pm - Open House
The second night will be an open house format, providing an opportunity for any parent or guardian to drop in and hear about their child's progress in individual team member classrooms. Please be mindful of the 10-minute time limit (per teacher) for individual conversations during the open house to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to participate.
Encore Staff (Music, PE, Art, ACES, Band, Orchestra) will all be available on both evenings for an Open House format as described above.
In addition, please note there is no school on February 13th for ECE-Fifth Grade for a comp day for staff due to evening conferences. Also, no school on February 16th in honor of President's Day.
Attendance Matters
Do You Want to Build a Snowman?
Our classes raced to have 10 days of 95% or greater attendance to build their snowman. Many classes were very close to finishing their build.

What's Happening in Encore in February?
ACES
In ACES class, our school will be learning more about their brains and how emotions affect behavior. We’ll explore the concept of “Flipping Your Lid,” learning about the different parts of the brain and what happens when strong emotions take over. Students will practice calming strategies they can use at school and at home to help themselves reset and refocus.
Random Acts of Kindness Week is February 14–20! Students are encouraged to spread kindness through small, thoughtful actions that help make our school a positive and caring community.
Letter Focus: O for Others
Ask your student to show you how to spot when their “lid” is flipping—and which calming strategy works best for them!
PE
February is an exciting month for many reasons! Starting next week, we will be kicking off the Kids Heart Challenge! If you are not familiar with this project, it is a great opportunity for your learner to focus on their heart health during PE with some awesome fitness stations we will be doing together. If your family chooses to participate in the fundraising, below is more information for you and your family to look at to decide if you would like to complete Finn's mission to become a heart hero! I will be providing more information to your child next week as well.
Throughout the lessons, students will be learning about heart health and life lessons from our amazing heart heroes, like staying active, being kind, resting well, and knowing when to ask for help.
Any student who completes Finn’s Mission before our kick off day will be awarded a green super hero cape and a Limited-Edition Super Victor Pup during the kickoff.
BONUS: Every student who signs up will get a free wristband!
On top of it being heart month, the winter Olympics begin this month, so we will be exploring the exciting landscape of the winter games and get a chance to learn about some of the events and we will also have stations that will be inspired by some of them that you can watch on TV!
Music
In general music we are wrapping up our instrument review as well as our formal introduction to the ukulele. We will begin concert preparation in February as we learn about our songs and how to use proper technique when singing. Elementary festival honors choir students will have their concert on February 12th at the SDSU Performing Arts Center- this is a free concert that starts at 4:45pm that day.
Library
During February, we will be learning about the Biography genre. We will read a few biography books, learn what makes a book a biography and be able to search for them in our library catalog as well as locate them on our library shelves.
