Peterson's Message- K3 Director

Greetings MCP3 Team!

Our first full week of school has been a success! I am incredibly proud of our team with our alignment- we definitely are rowing forward TOGETHER! Thank you all for your dedication, for showing up for our scholars, and for working hard to ensure a strong start to the 26-27 school year!

Class of 2041 will forever be positively impacted by each of you!

Most of our scholars have been doing an excellent job in the Rauh Room, demonstrating they can follow safety rules. We are still working on a couple friends learning to line up right away and I believe with time and consistency they will be able to meet this expectation. My hope is to open up big slides next week! Spider web is a permanently closed structure for K3. When we open up slides, it will be imperative that we have clearly identified staff members to support with the use of slides for safety during the first week. One will be positioned at the top and the other will be at the bottom. I will be in the Rauh Room to support with this as well.

Staff Update:

We have hired an SESS for the year! Ms. Griffin, has a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Mount Mary University and is currently in her graduate studies at Mount Mary in Counseling with a predicted graduation date of May 2027. Ms. Griffin will be here on Tuesday, 9/8 to begin her onboarding process and will be scheduled to spend some time in each of your classrooms next week. She will be getting to know the team, our scholars, and becoming familiar with MCP3 RAPs. Be sure to give her a warm welcome when you see her!

With all the Love and Respect,

Peterson

Potty Training Policy ~ Tracking

Weekly Walkthroughs & School Wide RAPs

Our first walkthroughs were done during morning meeting times and we are proud of the great things we are seeing across our classrooms! Alignment creates consistency!! If you ever have questions from the walkthrough form that gets emailed to your team, please do not hesitate to ask for clarification. Scholars did a good job of staying in their spots and giving quiet waves when we came in! We use the information from our walkthroughs to be able to find strengths across our programs with our systems and expectations as well as identify any areas that may need to be re-rapped with teams or the entire staff. We never rest until our good is better and our better is best! :-)

ClassDojo

We want to ensure we have 100% of families connected on Dojo! Here is where we are currently at:

  • Panthers- 90%
  • Tigers- 94%
  • Antelopes- 75%
  • Bulldogs- 95%
  • Golden Eagles- 95%

**Be sure to edit your class if you have scholars that Perine confirms are not coming and add students to your class when you get new scholars!

Shout out to Clayton, Blevins, and Harvell for their consistent posts on their classroom stories! Highlighting and sharing the incredible learning experiences with families helps strengthen our school/home relationships!

**Friday means it is time for your classroom dojo incentive! Scholars should be rewarded for their good behavior from the week. Remember- not everybody gets a cookie. So if scholars have not earned the prizes/incentives that's ok. They can try again next week. Be specific with which classroom expectation and rule they need to work on. If you need support with setting up your classroom dojo incentive please reach out!

Field Trips🚌

All classrooms need to have their Quarter 1 Field Trips scheduled by 9/18. This will allow adequate time for ordering busses as needed. Quarter 1 Field Trips should be scheduled to happen before the end of the Quarter.

**Make sure to reference the MCP calendar when scheduling field trips.

**Classrooms may wish to buddy up with other rooms for Field Trips.

**Once Field Trip is scheduled- staff should fill out the Field Trip form on the MCP Launch Page.

**Classrooms have a $2,600 budget for the year for Field Trips.
