This Past Week...

We just finished week 9 of our first quarter!

Academics

Religion

In Religion, we completed our Unit 1 Review. We also had a fruitful visit from Fr. Sam. The kids ask some of the most amazing questions--ones I haven't even ever thought of.

Reading/English Language Arts

In Reading and ELA, we practiced the following:

-Spelling R-Controlled Vowels

-Grammar Action (physical and mental) Verbs and Linking Verbs

-Writing We finished our ILEARN Narrative practice writing together!

-Comprehension We reviewed all of the first quarter concepts to prepare for ILEARN Checkpoint 1

-Vocabulary Skill We reviewed all of the first quarter concepts to prepare for ILEARN Checkpoint 1

Math

In Math, we reviewed all of the first quarter concepts to prepare for ILEARN Checkpoint 1

Parent-Teacher Conferences

It's parent-teacher conference time. I ask that if possible, both parents and the fifth-grade student be present for conferences.

Please note that fifth grade conferences will be on Tuesday, October 27th or Thursday, October 29th.

End of First Quarter

As a reminder, after this first quarter, I will not accept late work. Students will receive a zero if the work is not completed when it is due. It is important for students to practice concepts that are taught in a timely matter for both practice and retention.
