Region Auditions - 10/24
Region Auditions are coming up on Saturday, October 24th! We are hosting auditions at TMHS and have asked for student helpers. Those that were selected and their jobs are listed below. We will continue to verify helpers throughout the week. Student helpers need to be at TMHS by 6:45am.
The Region Audition is Saturday, October, 24th at Tomball Memorial HS (19100 Northpointe Ridge Ln, Tomball, TX 77377). Registration will not open until 7:30am. Audition cuts will be given out at 8:15am and a final call will be made for registration at that time. Registration closes at 8:30am.
All TMHS Choir Students auditioning should meet in the TMHS Choir room at 7:00am to do a quick warm up together and then walk to the cafeteria. Please note that students auditioning are not allowed to help volunteer with running the contest. All TMHS Students should park or be dropped off at the fine arts entrance.
AFTER ARRIVAL:
Upon arrival, ALL STUDENTS WILL GO TO CAFETERIA TO REGISTER and receive cuts. Once registration closes, students will warm up in the cafeteria and then be taken to their assigned rooms to be taken through cuts. Tomball Memorial HS will have signs directing singers to their appropriate rooms. Directors will go straight to the LGI and should not go with their students to registration. Registration opens at 7:30 am and closes at 8:30. Students arriving after 8:30 am will not be permitted to audition unless they are a LATE request.
Sopranos Cut Run Thru: Cafeteria
Altos Cut Run Thru: Orchestra Room
Tenors Cut Run Thru: Choir Room
Basses Cut Run Thru: Auditorium
The first group of students to audition will be called from their warm-up room. The remaining students from all voice parts will report to the cafeteria to await their audition. Students need to follow directions regarding line up and appropriate times to go to the restroom.
WARM UP:
All students will warm up in the cafeteria and then split in sections to go through the cuts 2 times per section (e.g., Alto 1 2x, Alto 2 2x). The cuts will not be rehearsed again. Students may vocalize after that point but may not practice the audition music. Please let your students know that they can only sing the cut material for their section. In other words, a soprano 1 cannot sing through the cuts again with the soprano 2s. This is a violation of the audition process and will be enforced.
LINE UP:
In their warm up rooms, the first two groups of 10 are to line up in order. The first group of 10 will be sent to the audition rooms, the next group of 10 is to go straight to the holding chairs. All remaining students will be sent to the cafeteria for the rest of the contest day.
NOTE ABOUT RESTROOMS:
Students should take care of any personal needs prior to going to registration. If they are in the first group of 20 (or have requested an AM time), there won’t be an opportunity to use the restroom until after their audition. If students ask to go to the restroom before 9am, the answer will be NO. Please share this information with your students.
NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES:
There are no electronic devices allowed at the audition. This includes smart watches.
There are no musical instruments allowed at the audition.
Please be sure that your chaperones and parents know that they can use
electronic devices, but may not allow students to use them. Remind them to use a safe distance when operating a device in proximity of students.

Patriotic Show - 10/30
The annual Patriotic Game(THS v. TMHS) is Friday, October 30th and the entire TMHS and THS Choir, Band, Cheer, and Dance teams are performing during the halftime show! All eligible Choir students are required to perform and as with every performance, it is four major grades.
Tickets will sell out quickly for both sides and traffic to the game is the worst. Students involved in the halftime performance do not need to purchase tickets to the game. Students who are not participating with another group (cheer, color guard, Navy Empire, etc) will need to wear their choir polo, jeans with no holes, and closed-toe shoes. Students will sit with the choir behind the band for the entire first half of the game, and will not have access to concessions. Following the halftime performance, students may stay for the game or leave. We encourage students to being their own refillable water bottle. There will be a bus provided from TMHS to the stadium for the game, and a bus back to TMHS at the end of the game. Students may also drive to the stadium or be dropped off by our 6:00pm call time. Students who are riding the bus to the stadium will need to be at TMHS in the choir room by 5:15pm. The bus will leave for the stadium promptly at 5:30pm.
All eligible students participating in Patriotic Show will be on a field trip leaver on Friday, October 30th during the school day for our rehearsal at the stadium. Students will wear their choir t-shirt to this rehearsal and are encouraged to dress comfortably for the weather, but be in dress code. Students who do not yet have a t-shirt will receive one this week if their class fee has been paid. A pizza lunch will be provided, but if your student has dietary restrictions they should bring a sack lunch.
2027 Spring Trip
The third payment for the Spring Trip is due November 15th! Please use the link below to make all payments.
Our 2027 Spring Trip will be to San Antonio and Bandera, Texas! The dates of the trip are April 22nd-25th. We will leave after school on Thursday and head to the Flying L Dude Ranch where there is great food, tennis, pickleball, basketball, putt putt, swimming, and more! On Sunday we will pack up and head to Six Flags Fiesta Texas for the day before heading back home to TMHS! Students traveling on the Spring Trip must be eligible due to missing school.
Checks and cash are accepted for payments, and any checks can be made out to TMHS Choir.
Please remember that the trip is not required but it is a lot of fun!
We are also in need of more parent chaperones for our Spring Trip to San Antonio. With 81 students currently signed up to travel with us, we are in need of at least about 10 chaperones to balance the group. Chaperone cost of the trip is approximately $800 and payments can be made using the same link to schoolcashonline below. Please indicate who the payment is for by putting the correct student or chaperone name as "recipient".
Veteran's Day Flag Sign Up
It is time to sign up for our Veterans Day flag fundraiser! The deadline to sign up is SATURDAY, October 24, 2026. We will distribute flags on Saturday, October 31, 2026. We will be at Tomball Memorial High School (bus parking lot) from 9-10 AM so you can pick up your flags. REMINDER that FLAGS MUST BE PLACED AT ADDRESSES BY SUNDAY EVENING NOVEMBER 1st. If you are unable to place all flags by Sunday evening, please find a friend to help distribute. PLEASE TEXT THE FLAG COORDINATORS, Rachel and Brittany, TO LET THEM KNOW WHEN YOUR ROUTE HAS BEEN COMPLETED.
Flags must be picked up and returned to the high school on Sunday, November 15th, 3-4 PM.
PLEASE BE PROMPT WITH BOTH PICK-UP AND RETURN OF FLAGS! These times are when someone will be at the school to give & receive the flags, NOT when you should start collecting the flags for return. You can pick up flags for return the day before, but you must store the flags securely until the return time. Please be sure to cover in a vehicle or place in garage to protect them from inclement weather if you choose to pick up early. We will be watching the weather for the weekend and will address any potential changes as they come up!
The flag fundraising program is one of the choirs biggest fundraisers to help offset expenses throughout the year. We distribute and pick up flags for subscribers in neighborhoods around TMHS for 5 major holidays-- 4th of July, Labor/Patriotic Day, Veterans Day, Presidents Day and Memorial Day. Your student will earn $1 in service point for each flag they distribute and $1 service point for each flag they pick up. If your child distributes 100 flags and picks up 100 flags, they will earn $200 in service points for that holiday. These points can then be used to pay for various choir expenses throughout the year, ranging from choir class fee, vocal lessons, banquet and the end of the year trip. This years trip will be in San Antonio with the cost predicted to be around $800. This means if your student participates in flags from now through President's Day and does @100 flags each time, they could pay for half of their trip! Points can also be used to pay for next year's class fees, or as the deposit for our out-of-state Spring trip in 2028!
We estimate it takes about an hour of time per 50 flags distributed. If a student commits to placing just 25 flags (30 minutes), they will earn $50 in points for placing and picking up to spend on any choir expense. If they commit to 50 flags (1 hour of time), they will earn $100 in points. We hope you participate! It is a great way to make all the fun things the choir offers affordable.
**New this year for returning choir students**--Each student who signs up and earns a TOTAL of 100 points for EVERY flag holiday throughout the year (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, President's Day) will earn EXTRA points to be awarded after the final holiday of the year (President's Day). Amount TBD but these points can be used for anything choir related after President's Day or banked for the next years out of state trip!
Reminder to NEVER place a flag that is ripped, torn, faded or with a bent pole.
**Please be sure you can fulfill both the distribution and pick-up of flags before you commit, or partner with a friend to each do one day or both together!
If you have any questions or issues, contact Rachel Lagaly 281-723-8482 and Brittany Kanatani 832-242-3554.
When signing up, LEAVE QUANTITY AS 1. Please enter student name, MAX number of flags willing to distribute, and any route preferences in comments.
National Anthem Sign Up
We are looking for more people to sing The National Anthem at various sporting events throughout the school year! Currently we are in Volleyball and football season. If you or a group would like to sing at one of the games, please sign up below. Any singers must sing off for Ms. White or Mr. Ragsdale the day before the game. Students singing should wear their Choir t-shirt. If you have a group that would like to sing, please list all names in the comments of the sign up.
Sign up will be updated throughout the year with the sport in season.
World's Finest Chocolate
Students have begun selling World's Finest Chocolate boxes and are off to a great start! Boxes are $80 each and have 40 chocolate bars in each box to be sold at $2 a bar. Once your student has sold all 40 bars, please have them return the $80 to Ms. White or Mr. Ragsdale in an envelope with their name on it. For each box of chocolate sold, students will receive 30 points which will be added in Presto.
Please remember that if your student takes a box of chocolate and loses the box or eats the chocolate, they are still responsible for turning in the $80 to the choir program. Students who do not return the money to the program will go on fines and fees at the end of the year and will be unable to exempt final exams.
As an incentive to sell lots of chocolate boxes, students who sell 5 boxes will receive a $15 gift card, and 10 boxes is a $30 gift card!

Student of the Week!
This week we would like to shoutout Sydnie Murchison in Bella Voce for always being a team player and leader in her section and her class! She steps up to help others and is always doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. She carries her self with poise and grace, and we are so fortunate to have her as a TMHS Choir member! Thank you, Sydnie!
