Treaty Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that Killam Public School is on Treaty 6 territory - the ancestral and traditional land of many Indigenous groups. We are grateful for the animals, the water and the forests that provide us with many resources we use each day. We are thankful for the diverse opportunities that this land offers. We respect the land in which we gather on today.

Staff Spotlight - Mrs. Cox
My name is Barb Cox and I have lived in Killam for nearly 43 years. I have been working at KPS since 2018 in the Learning Commons. Prior to that I worked for Canada Post for over 20 years.
I am married to bus driver Lorne and we have 2 kids, Jordy (married to Morgan) and Janelle (married to Adam Clark) and 2 grandchildren that attend KPS, Harper and Hudson. Our other grandchild, Evan, attends school at CHSPS. I am also an aunt to Mrs. Walline, one of the grade 1 EA's.
In my spare time I like to quilt, read, hang out with my family and spend my summer at the lake. KPS is a great place to work, we have wonderful students and the best staff to work with!

Jump Rope for Heart
Next week we are supporting the Heart and Stroke Foundation through Jump Rope for Heart. Through the week, students will be skipping for at least 10 minutes in their Phys. Ed classes. When they participate they will receive a slip of paper to enter their name and grade into a draw. On Friday we will draw for some prizes that have been sent to us from the Heart and Stroke Foundation. To support the work that the Heart and Stroke Foundation does, we are asking students to bring a donation of two dollars next week.
