Attendance
Our goal at Northwest Elementary is 97% attendance every day!! Can you help us reach our goal?
Did you know that if your child misses 2 or more days a month of school that they can fall behind? Our students are learning new things every day. By getting your child to school on time and allowing them to stay for the whole day, together we are setting them up for success.
Each week students that have been at school for the week earn a prize in the classroom. If they have perfect attendance for the 6 weeks, then we get to have a popsicle party with the principal. We have had donations for a big prize at the end of the year for students who have been to school all year!
Roving Chef
Chef Greg joined a few of our 3rd and 4th graders last week teaching valuable skills! Students learned how to make stir fry!

Goals for Northwest Elementary
Increase MEETS GRADE LEVEL performance in reading and math to 60% by June 2025, as evidenced by our 2025 STAAR scores.
How are we going to accomplish this goal?
- Our teachers will teach our curriculum with fidelity. Our math curriculum is Eureka and Reading and Writing is Amplify. For our supplemental curriculum, we will use iReady and iXL. Teachers will be progress monitoring throughout the year and students will take a diagnostic assessment at the beginning, middle, and end of the year.
- Classroom walkthroughs will occur from the district and school level.
- Every student will set a Wildly Important Goal (WIG) - one personal and one academic
- Every classroom will have a WIG (see above)
- Every grade level will track WIGS
- Schoolwide goal will be tracked
- Teachers are supporting students with Leadership Portfolios so that they can set goals and hold each other accountable.
Please contact your child's teacher, Mrs. Price, or Mrs. Naron if you have any questions.
We are committed to achievement at Northwest Elementary!
