The Islamic Calendar follows a lunar cycle, and while these are the calculated expected dates of Ramadan, they can differ from place to place based on moon-sightings or lack thereof.

PTO co-hosting a screening of Join or Die

We are co-hosting a screening of Join or Die - a documentary about community engagement - with the Munjoy Hill Neighborhood Association on March 6th at 6pm and March 9th at 9 pm. See the trailer HERE. From their website: This feature documentary follows the the half-century story of America's civic unraveling through the journey of legendary social scientist Robert Putnam, whose groundbreaking "Bowling Alone" research into America's decades-long decline in community connections could hold the answers to our democracy's present crisis.

Kindergarten Registration Opens Soon

If your child is currently enrolled in the Portland Public Schools in one of our pre-kindergarten (4-year-old) classrooms, it is not necessary for you to re-enroll your child in kindergarten. Your child's enrollment will automatically "roll up" to your neighborhood kindergarten elementary school, according to your primary home address.

Visit our Kindergarten Registration page for more information.

EECS PTO

We hope you are healthy and doing well. We have a few things to let you know.

First, and this is a fun one, we have been offered FREE tickets to see Frog & Toad at the Merrill for anyone who wants them! The show is on Sunday, March 23rd at 3 pm and you can see all the details HERE. This is generously provided by a grant from Portland Public Schools and there is a fun catch - you have to invite a family from our community who is not currently part of the PTO, in an effort to get them more involved.

Please visit our PTO website HERE to get a feel for what we do and what we hope to do this year. We are a group of parents working to support the kids and staff at EECS in every way we can. We did a lot of great stuff last year, and we'd like to do it again this year. We need a lot of help with this!

You can you make RECURRING DONATIONS to our PTO? (Please click HERE). This helps us do more - we have big plans to send these kids on field trips, fund swim lessons, and have even more community and cultural events! Help us make them happen!

Meet the Board Members HERE.

Sharon McGauley, President
Jessica MilNeil and Elizabeth Atterbury, Co-Vice Presidents
Kris Knight, Secretary
Mike Dixon, Treasurer
