Dear Bateman Families & Friends,
Today marks the end of the 5th week of school! Progress Reports are going home with all students. Please carve out time this weekend to look at your child's progress thus far in Quarter 1! It is still early in the year to create a great routine - reflect on what is working at home and solidify your plan to support your child! Engaging in daily conversation and building home routines are essential to partnering with your child and our educators.
- Check your child's planner daily or ask them to take out their planner (4th-8th have Planners while K-3 have weekly homework packets)
- Ask your child what they learned during the school day
- Design a homework spot with your child
We believe that with strong parent engagement and partnership, our students' academic success will continue to thrive!
And now...some fun! Our 10th Anniversary Walk-a-Thon is only two weeks away! We still have a long way to go to meet our goals this fall, but there is good news: registering and sending out requests are easy! Use the links below to register and send out donation requests. In order to be in the student raffle, a student must be registered and receive a minimum of a $5 donation.
Online Registration Instructions
Fundraising will go towards several important causes. We want to grow our sports program offerings! This year, we added a second girls volleyball team, and started our first cross country team! We have added practice teams and a 5th grade soccer program, as well. In order to add additional teams, we need to raise money for uniforms, equipment, and coaching stipends. Our volleyball and basketball teams play in leagues outside of CPS, so our hard-working coaches need to be paid through our funding. Equipment is very costly, and the balls we purchase are roughly $40-50 each. New equipment is also needed for recess as we currently have a very limited supply for students to use.
We have many great prizes for this year's event. The top prize is a $100 Amazon gift card. You can view additional prizes by using the link below. If you are able to donate additional raffle prizes, please contact Mr. Nowak at jdnowak@cps.edu. We are looking for donations of food gift cards, sports equipment, sports team clothing, and backpacks. Check out the entire Walk-a-Thon Prize List!
Congratulations to the following students who each won a $10 Starbucks gift card during our second early raffle!
