Snorkl : Fast Feedback for Students

I heard about this fairly new AI tool from a colleague. I gave Snorkl a try and was pretty impressed. This tool gives instant feedback on explanations and speaking. As a former Spanish teacher, I would have loved to have a tool that can give students feedback on their speaking and explaining. Finding the time to evaluate every student in conversational Spanish was challenging.

There is a free version which allows you access, and there's a paid for license. You can create classes and assign topics. There are many pre-built activities to use and it was quite seamless to get started. I worked with a 5th grade teacher this morning and we found some useful Science activities for her grade level.

Below is my sample using a family tree activity in Spanish. Give it a try!

RELATE: Using Magic School to make your content relevant

Magic School AI has a fabulous tool ("Make it relevant!") where it will create relevancy for any content for your audience. You add the age and personality traits/ interests of the group and it will create bridges for you for that content and that audience. Our students learn better when they can relate to the subject!

Quick Microsoft OneDrive Tip: Organizing your folders!

OneDrive lets you set up the folder structure you need to organize your files. And you can easily restore deleted or earlier versions of a file.

  • On the OneDrive home page, select the Add new button, then select Folder.
  • Name your folder, select a folder color if needed, and then select Create.
  • Select the files you want and drag them into the folder
Restore deleted items
  • Select the Recycle bin.
  • Select the files you want and click Restore.
  • The file is returned to its original location. Items in the recycle bin are automatically deleted after 93 days, unless the administrator has changed the setting.

Restore a file to a previous version

  • In OneDrive, select the ellipses (...) next to the file that you want to restore an earlier version., and then at the top, select Version history.
  • Select Version history.
  • Select the ellipses (...) next to the version of the document that you want to restore, and then Restore.

Quick iPhone Tip: Organizing your Widgets

I've been playing around with the widgets lately on my phone. They are so useful!!

Widgets are a fantastic way to personalize your iPhone and access important information quickly. Here’s how you can organize your widgets to make the most out of your Home Screen:

  1. Add Widgets to Your Home Screen:

    • Press and hold an empty area on your Home Screen until the apps start to jiggle.
    • Tap the + button in the top-left corner.
    • Browse or search for the widget you want to add, then tap it.
    • Swipe left or right to choose a widget size, then tap Add Widget.
  2. Create Widget Stacks:

    • Drag one widget on top of another to create a stack.
    • You can stack up to 10 widgets.
    • To edit a stack, press and hold it, then tap Edit Stack. You can reorder widgets or remove them from the stack.
  3. Use Smart Stacks:

    • Smart Stacks automatically rotate widgets based on your usage patterns.
    • To add a Smart Stack, follow the same steps as adding a widget and select Smart Stack from the widget options.
  4. Remove Unused Widgets:

    • To remove a widget, press and hold it, then tap Remove Widget.
    • This helps keep your Home Screen uncluttered and focused on the widgets you use most.

LG CreateBoard Corner

Have you tried the Palette app on the CreateBoard? Our students love it. I will often leave a blank open page in Palette on the board and I'm always impressed with what our students can create! You can blend colors, use different brushes and create amazing art.
