πΎ Celebrating National FFA Week at JCMS πΎ
At JCMS, we are proud to celebrate National FFA Week and the strong agricultural traditions that are part of our communityβs foundation. FFA is more than an organization. It is a leadership development program that teaches responsibility, work ethic, public speaking, service, and career readiness. It reflects many of the same values we emphasize daily at JCMS: showing up, working hard, supporting others, and taking pride in what you do.
Agriculture continues to play a vital role in Indiana and across our nation. Through FFA, students explore career pathways, develop hands-on skills, and build confidence that carries far beyond the classroom. Whether students pursue agriculture, business, engineering, or any other field, the character traits developed through FFA prepare them for long-term success.
To celebrate National FFA Week, students are invited to participate in themed dress-up days:
- Monday β All American
- Wear red, white, and blue.
- Tuesday β Country Club
- Boots and western apparel.
- Wednesday β Branded Day
- John Deere (Green) vs. IH (Red).
- Thursday β Blue and Gold Day
- Wear Blue and Gold or your FFA shirt.
- Friday β Camo Day
- Show your outdoor spirit.
We encourage students to participate while continuing to follow school dress expectations.
πΎ Checkpoint 3 Testing this Week! πΎ
JCMS will have Checkpoint 3 testing this week! Students will complete checkpoint tests in their Language Arts and Math classes.
Our schedule is listed below:
- Tuesday, February 24th - Language Arts Day 1
- Wednesday, February 25th - Language Arts Day 2
- Thursday, February 26th - Math Day 1
- Friday, February 27th - Math Day 2
Here are a few testing tips for this week:
- Get Plenty of Rest!
- Make sure to get at least 8 hours of sleep each night leading up to the test. A well-rested brain performs much better!
- Eat a Healthy Breakfast
- Fuel your brain with a balanced breakfast on test days. Include protein (eggs, yogurt), whole grains (toast, cereal), and fruits for long-lasting energy.
- Stay Calm and Positive
- Confidence is key! Take deep breaths, relax, and remind yourself that youβve been preparing all year. A positive mindset can help you perform better.
- Bring Necessary Supplies
- Ensure you have all the materials youβll need for the testβ Chromebook, charger, and pencil/pen.
π JCMS Spelling Bee will be rescheduled for Monday, February 23rd during SRT π
