Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the smash hit motion picture, Legally Blonde The Musical JR. is a fabulously fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons. The show's instantly recognizable songs are filled with humor, wit and sass — leaving cast members and audiences alike seeing pink! Legally Blonde JR. follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. When Elle's boyfriend, Warner, dumps her and heads to Harvard, claiming she's not "serious" enough, Elle takes matters into her own hands, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate, Emmett, and spunky hairdresser, Paulette, along the way, Elle finds that books and looks aren't mutually exclusive. As Elle begins outsmarting her peers, she realizes that law may be her natural calling after all.

Parent & Caregiver Resource Library
The LLR School Council is excited to introduce a new Parent & Caregiver Resource Library! We’ve curated a selection of insightful and thought-provoking books to support families in navigating the ups and downs of parenting. These resources are here to help us better understand our children and the challenges they face—because let’s be honest, parenting isn’t always easy!
How it works:
It’s simple! Visit the school office and chat with our amazing secretaries. You can borrow a book, take it home, and return it when you’re done.
Current Titles Available:
· The Anxious Generation: How the Great Rewiring of Childhood Is Causing an Epidemic of Mental Illness
· The Disengaged Teen: Helping Kids Learn Better, Feel Better, and Live Better
· The Myth of Normal: Trauma, Illness and Healing in a Toxic Culture
· What Happened to You?: Conversations on Trauma, Resilience, and Healing
· Seven Fallen Feathers: Racism, Death, and Hard Truths in a Northern City
· From the Ashes: My Story of Being Métis, Homeless, and Finding My Way
· Uniquely Human: A Different Way of Seeing Autism (Updated & Expanded)

Transportation During Inclement Weather
With the recent cold weather, the school has a few reminders for families:
· Ensure students have clothing appropriate for expected weather conditions.
· If weather conditions are bad enough to impact student transportation, Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) advises families directly, and posts updates on social media and eips.ca.
· Decisions regarding bus cancellations are guided by an EIPS administrative procedure that states, “school bus service may be suspended…when there is a forecast or current temperature of -40 C, including wind chill factor, in one or more regions.” Other reasons for suspending or delaying school bus services include adverse weather and poor road conditions.
· When school bus services are suspended, schools remain open to students.
For more information, contact EIPS Student Transportation at 780-417-8151.
Parking Lot Pick Up and Drop Off
Safety Concern - Parents, please read!
When dropping off and picking up students, please ensure you are not parking in bus zones, staff parking spaces, or entering the staff parking lot at any time, even for a quick stop. We have noticed an increase in vehicles lining up and blocking staff parking stalls for end of day pick up. This makes it difficult for staff to leave the school because their stalls are either blocked or they are concerned about backing out and hitting someone. Staff parking spaces have all been allocated for the staff from Lakeland Ridge, Holy Spirit and EIPS Supports for Students. All staff parking spots are in use, however, you may see some open spots because staff from all 3 organizations arrive and depart at various times of the day. Please do not park in an empty staff parking space or enter the staff parking lot. The map below outlines where you are permitted to pull in to pick up and drop off your children. (Turquoise area ONLY.) Whenever in doubt, STAY TO THE RIGHT!
