Christie's Corner Christie's Corner

I hope that your new year is off to a good start! December was a super fun month here at Ralph! Santa arrived on a fire truck December 10, with treats for all of our students. The excitement and joy on student faces was spectacular. We would like to thank Sacramento Metro Fire District and the Sacramento Central Labor Council for the financial support that allows this visit to occur. Another fun event was a snowball fight and then watching The Polar Express on our last day of the year.

A special thank you to room 18 for decorating the bulletin board in the office this month. The students in that room made some really nice winter scenes and cool snowflakes. Thank you for sharing your creativity!

M.O.V.E. Moment M.O.V.E. Moment

M.O.V.E. stands for Mobility Opportunities Via Education/Experience and is a San Juan sponsored activity-based program designed to teach children with severe disabilities the functional motor skills needed to sit, stand, and walk as independently as possible. We have students and staff working very hard on this every day!

Meet Cooper! Cooper has been using a Kidwalk device to support him in learning to stand and walk independently. Once students are more mobile, they can begin to explore more, learn more, and we get to see their personalities emerge even more. Cooper is a rockstar!!
