Weekly Newsletter for Parents, Families, & Students
September 13, 2026, Volume 3: Issue 5
Message from Dr. B
Dear RCHS Parents and Families,
I hope you had a restful weekend. As we head into the week ahead, thank you for the continued support you show our students and staff.
RCHS Executive Student Leadership Committee: Our Executive Student Leadership Committee has been selected, every student has been notified, and we have already held our first meeting. Congratulations to each member of this year's committee. These sixteen students were chosen through an application process and represent all four houses across our junior and senior classes.
This year they will carry student voice into our school improvement planning and into the division's strategic planning work, and they will help lead Homecoming, spirit events, and House Days. Our first meeting confirmed for me that these students are ready to take this responsibility seriously. I also want to thank every student who applied. The care and thoughtfulness in those applications told me a great deal about the leaders we have at RCHS, and I hope each of those students stays involved.
RCHS House Standings: The latest Critter Coin standings are included in the newsletter. Mill House continues to hold the lead, and I am glad to see students from all four houses earning recognition for showing our We Are RAPP attributes. Every coin represents a student choosing to show who we are at RCHS, and that is worth celebrating no matter which house is on top.
Class of 2027 Senior Trip Survey: Parents of our juniors, please take a moment to complete the senior trip date survey linked below. We have received a small number of responses so far, and I want every family to have a voice in choosing dates that work. Your input directly shapes the plan, so please respond if you have not already.
Time and Place: I continue to be impressed by the majority of our students and the way they show up ready to learn. We do still have a small number of students, particularly in our younger grades, who are working to settle into the business of school. Students who repeatedly disrupt instruction may be removed from the classroom and provided alternative options for learning, because it is not fair to our teachers or to the students who come each day ready to learn.
We also expect every student to treat peers with kindness. There is no space at RCHS for cruel or unkind comments. Please help us reinforce these expectations at home, and take a moment tonight or tomorrow morning to talk with your student about the week ahead. Your partnership on this makes a real difference in what happens in our classrooms.
As a reminder, please check your student's teachers' weekly summaries below to see what is ahead in their classes. Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership.
Yours truly,
Dr. B
