Devotion and Chapel
Two of our most favorite times of the week at CCS are morning worship and devotion and weekly chapel services.
We love beginning our school day each day with a song of worship and morning devotion led by Mr. Yearwood. Faculty members also take part in leading devotion and we also love having our students take on leadership roles during this time as well.
Each week all CCS students participate in a chapel service. During chapel, students participate in age appropriate lessons led by Christian leaders in our community, missionaries, and teachers.
Leaf Detectives
Mrs. Borden's 4th grade science students successfully completed their first investigative lab of the year.
Shapes and Snacks
Mrs. Shaddrix and her Kindergarten students worked on identifying shapes while enjoying some yummy snacks.
Staying Active and Healthy
Lower school PE classes are always fun! Coach Cydney and Coach Nikki are back this year with a new partner, Coach Penny. PE time is always a favorite time filled with fun, games, and time with friends.
PTF Meeting
Parent volunteers gathered on Tuesday to discuss plans for the school year. The PTF is an invaluable and vital resource to CCS! Thank you to all the parents who dedicate their time and talents to support teachers, students, and to make our school great!

History Mystery
Mrs. Krogh's 10th grade United States History class worked on little history mystery on Friday as they begin their studies on events in American history.
Scripture Memorization
Congratulations to this group of Kindergarten students who mastered memorizing their weekly Bible verse.
Procedures and Drills
Lower school students worked on emergency procedures as they participated in a fire drill on Friday.
More Drills
Navigating a new campus requires learning new procedures and best practices. Upper school students also participated in a fire drill on Friday. Special thanks to our Cullman Fire Department for observing and working with us on this practice to keep our students safe!
Taking Responsibility and Staying Organized
Students in 4th-6th grade are building organizational skills as they take responsibility for managing materials and supplies for their different classes. Using a locker helps students plan, prioritize, and stay on task.
Rooftop Duty
What is Mr. Yearwood doing on the roof? Just taking care of some wasp nests!
New Shades
Thanks to some parent volunteers, 4th-6th grade students have a new shade to beat that hot August sun on the decks.
Learning About New Opportunities
Mrs. Griffin and Mrs. Warden attended the ACT Summit to learn more about fine and performing arts opportunities for our students.
20th Year Anniversary T-Shirts

The 2026-2027 school year marks the 20th year of ministry at CCS! As a fun way to celebrate throughout the year, the PTF will be selling 20th Anniversary T-Shirts. Shirts can be ordered online now through September 4th.

PTF will host the first Spirit Night of the year at Slim Chickens on Tuesday, August 25th from 4:00-9:00 PM.

ALACRAO College Fair
Juniors and Seniors will attend the ALACRAO College Fair at Wallace State on Wednesday, September 2nd. At the fair students will visit with college representatives from colleges and universities around the state to learn more about admission requirements, scholarship opportunities and programs of study.
All Things Upper School
It's an exciting time for student life, activities, and opportunities at the upper school!
Sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the things happening and teenagers are not always the most reliable information source. 🙃
Here are some resources to help:
- Student Email - All upper school students have a school email address. "firstname.lastname@cullmanchristian.com" Any information emailed from FACTS or Google Classrooms will deliver to this email. Students should regularly check email for information sent out by the school/teachers.
- Grade Level Google Classrooms - All upper school students are enrolled in a Google Classroom with Mrs. Yearwood. This platform is used to post announcements and information specific to grade levels. This resource is especially critical for Seniors working on college admission and scholarship applications. All parents have been invited to view guardian summaries.
- Course Google Classrooms - Some of the upper school teachers also use Google Classrooms to post notes, assignment details, etc.
- Canvas - Dual Enrollment students use Wallace State's Canvas platform to check assignments, access information, etc. All dual enrollment students should consistently check this platform as well as their Wallace State student email.
- CCS Guidance & Counseling Website - The CCS Guidance & Counseling website is filled with all sorts of information relevant to grades 7-12.
- FACTS Family Portal - Parents and students should check the FACTS Family Portal often for grades, attendance, announcements, account balances, hot lunches, entering service hours, and much more.
Junior High & Varsity Volleyball
The Junior High and Varsity Volleyball teams earned wins in their season openers against Sumiton Christian. The next matchups will be this week on Tuesday at Hanceville and Thursday at the Omniplex vs. Whitesburg Christian.
