This week we had the opportunity to host our 2nd Annual Regional Spelling Bee, welcoming top spellers from Strasburg, Bennett, Byers, Deer Trail, and Kiowa. Our SES students represented us incredibly well, with Cohen Nelson placing 1st in 3rd grade, Alani Rodriguez placing 1st in 4th grade, and Greyson Rickett placing 2nd in 5th grade. We also celebrated our February House Award winners, recognizing students who earned the most House Points for demonstrating great character and academic excellence. Looking ahead, we are excited for our Spring House Party on Friday, March 20th, where students will come together to celebrate their community in their Houses. Finally, thank you to the families who have already completed the 5Essentials Parent Survey, your feedback helps guide our focus for continued improvement, and we encourage anyone who hasn’t yet had a chance to please take a few minutes to share your thoughts.

If you’re student has misplaced something, please stop by the cafeteria during Parent Teacher Conferences on Monday, March 16th and check the tables for Lost and Found. All items (including COATS) will be boxed up the last day of school before Spring Break and delivered to Denver Rescue to benefit local families in need.

St. Patrick’s Day Fun at SES!

On Tuesday, March 17, we’re inviting students to join us in a little St. Patrick’s Day fun at school!

✨ Or go all out if you’re feeling lucky!

Participation is completely optional, but any student who participates will earn 2 House Points for their House! Let’s add a little extra fun and community spirit to the day. We’re lucky to have such amazing students and families at SES!

Homework Club

Students 1st - 5th can stay after school until 5:00 PM for extra homework help on Wednesdays. Homework Club location will be posted on Dojo.

Spring House Party – Friday, March 20

We’re excited for our Spring House Party on Friday, March 20th! Students are encouraged to wear their House shirts to show their House pride. If your student has misplaced their shirt, we do have more available at the school for $15. We also have lots of great House merchandise available in our team store, and a portion of all sales come back to SES to help fund events like our House Parties. Spring break is coming, the kids shout “YAY!”

Parents smile and nod… in their own quiet way.

Pajamas till noon, snacks every hour,

The living room slowly losing its power.

“I’m bored!” begins at 9:03…

“Can I have a snack?” times thirty-three.

But when the bus comes back next week,

Parents cheer for quiet at last.
