A Few Notes from Us... A Few Notes from Us...

We removed many of the links and text that were essential for our Back to School editions of AGS News. We hope that by editing this newsletter down, it's easier to find the most essential information.

"Meet the Teacher Night"

We value your partnership so much and want to thank everyone who visited during "Meet the Teacher Night". Not only was it great to meet you and talk about the exciting start of the year, but it was also exciting to show all of the investment you've made. Our new carpeting and furniture are one example of Fenton's commitment to providing a great environment for student learning. Thanks again!

Lunches

We're also really excited about how our shift from three to two lunches has gone! By having two lunch services with more students and a gap in between, we have been able to clean more thoroughly and aren't rushed as we prepare for lunch after lunch after lunch. Our student nutrition and custodial teams have both noted significant improvements with this evolution. Thanks to a generous donation from our community partners Freedom Center ECO, we've been able to give students flexible options for eating at standing tables (pictured with Mr. Long!) and expanded to other options in the atrium. Mr. Long also gives students the opportunity to move in the gymnasium during lunches. This week, we also saw our PTO open the School Store, which will be open every Wednesday. The hottest item is still the pickles!

We can appreciate some nerves about fewer lunch periods with more students, but your students have really taken positive steps to demonstrate their responsibility during these times and it's going well!

Student Work

It's been really great seeing students get back into the routines of school. Student work is begging to show up on classroom walls and in the hallways! Already, students have brought in decorated paper bags in ELA classes, finalized their first video broadcast for the year, and began drafting Thirteen Colonies Brochures in Social Studies classes. We're including some student artwork from Ms. Birchmeier's class currently hanging in our hallways - a sure sign of our students' creative power and our teachers' commitment to great instruction.

On Thursday, our school counselors sent Google Classroom invitations to ALL students via their school Gmail. During your child's homeroom/SRT, they were to accept the invite and join the group. This will give our students direct access to their counselor whenever they need support.

During next week's homeroom/SRT news broadcast segment, our counseling team will be featured to introduce themselves and share all the great services they offer. Please take a moment to see if your student has successfully joined the Counselor Corner Google Classroom.

FAPS Is Utilzing New System for Payment- Please See Details Below!

Fenton Area Public Schools is excited to announce a new online payment system to replace what we were using in the past which was eFunds for Schools. This new online payment from RevTrak opens up a ton of opportunities to pay for school fees and other school activities, such as field trips (coming soon!) and dance events like homecoming (coming soon!).

We are continuously building out our webstore for the future events and fees but we are set up for the start of the school year. You will see items appear starting in early August. You are able to create your account now so that you can add a payment method (Whether it is a credit card or your bank account using routing and account numbers) so you are ready to pay for items on the webstore.

Adding money to your student's lunch account remains the same as it was using the family portal from MealMagic. You will notice RevTrak or Vanco being listed on your bank statements instead of eFunds as RevTrak/Vanco is the new payment processor for MealMagic.

Having an account will keep your purchase history and you will be able to see any required or optional fees that are assigned to your child or children.

The link to the webstore is fentonschools.revtrak.net and it can also be found on our website under the Our District tab.

There are a few step by step guides linked that will walk you through how to create an account and link your child or children to your account so please follow those steps carefully.

  • How to create an account

  • How to link a student to your account

  • How to add a payment method

Student Supervision - Looking for Partners! (NEW POSTINGS) Student Supervision - Looking for Partners! (NEW POSTINGS)

As we begin our incredible school year, our top priority is creating a safe, supportive environment where our middle schoolers can thrive. Lunchtime is a vital part of the day—a less structured time where students practice independence, social skills, and self-reliance. To support them during this daily transition, we are looking for positive adult role models to join us as paid Lunchtime Supervisors.

The ideal candidate understands the unique balance of keeping students safe while still giving them the space they need to grow. If you or someone you know loves working with middle school students and wants to make a direct impact on our school culture, we would love to hear from you.

While there is no official district job posting yet, you can express early interest right now. Please reach out directly to Zach Bradley (zbradley@fentonschools.org) or Ben Malecki (bmalecki@fentonschools.org) via email to learn more about the hourly rate, schedule, and responsibilities.

Thank you for partnering with us to keep our school safe and vibrant!
