Cooper partnered with Empower Nutrition to show love through Kindness Sleeves. During Guidance, Cooper students decorated a drink sleeve with words and pictures of kindness, positivity, and love which will be put on the drinks served at Empower Nutrition. Just another way for us to show Spartan Pride and spread kindness in the community!
Little Loon Opera
Our Cooper Cub, Lilliana participated in the community performance of the Little Loon Opera: Rusalka at the Depot in Duluth on Thursday, February 27th. All-District Event
Cooper Glow Run Fundraiser
We're excited to introduce this year's main fundraiser, the Cooper Glow Run. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for supporting PBIS and helping the PTA to fund field trips, our family events, and our end of the year carnival to benefit ALL students at Cooper Elementary.
We’re excited for this fundraising experience because it offers 3 important things to our school community:
User-friendly fundraising platform
Character enrichment program
Fitness-focused event that includes ALL of our students
As a family, you will work together asking friends and family to donate on your student’s donation page at MyBooster.com. The best part is, you can still support our school just by SHARING about the fundraiser!
Students will also experience an amazing character enrichment program called “Castle Quest”, teaching students about how to be brave and live with character.

Cooper Families,
It was so great to see everyone at conferences! We loved sharing the awesome gains and hard work the students have been doing here at Cooper. If you were unable to attend your child's conference, please reach out to the classroom teacher to schedule a time.
If you have a student at Cooper in grades 3-5, you will have received an email on Monday, March 3rd informing families that the Wisconsin State Assessments known as the Forward Exam are scheduled for the window of time between March 17th and April 25th. Additional information about the Forward Exam can be found in that email. Please reach out if you have any other questions.
We hope you all have a great and safe spring break! We look forward to seeing the kids back on March 17th.

Growth Mindset
The Power of Yet! Students have been learning about the benefits of having a growth mindset and the power of yet. Those who have a growth mindset think of intelligence and other abilities—athletic, musical, artistic, etc.—as developing over time and that there are always opportunities to learn. Those with a fixed mindset see abilities as fixed at birth. People with a growth mindset look at problems and failures as opportunities to learn how to do better. Encouraging kids to use growth mindset self talk can be as easy as adding "yet".... It turns "I can't read" into "I can't read yet!" Praising kids for their effort and helping them notice failure as a starting point for what to try differently are other easy yet powerful ways to encourage growth mindset.
