What's gone down & what's coming up at the leopards' lair.

April 28, 2023

Lutherville Families,

We had a FULL week at the Lab!

We had a packed 5 day week highlighted by our Drama Club performance and Trout Release field trip! Drama Club's salute to Broadway was presented to our entire school on Tuesday morning -- the first time our full LL family has been in the gym together since before the COVID pandemic began -- and again for families in the evening. They were tremendous!

Our Trout Release field trip is a highlight of every Leopard's 3rd grade experience. It ties together much of their science curriculum about environmental systems and provides a highlight to the month of raising baby trout from eggs when releasing them into the Gunpowder River at Jerusalem Mill. Students also enjoyed a hike, wrote nature poetry, and investigated what organisms could be found in the creekbed.

This week the school system began changing over from heating to air conditioning. With the weather also turning chilly, it would be wise to make sure students have a sweatshirt with them here at school on colder days. If you're missing a sweatshirt or three, they're likely in the lost and found! Please have your child check!

For Ridgely bound 5th grade families -- Ridgely athletics sent information about sports registration for the 2023-2024 season. It is attached if you are interested.

Last week we included a number of summer camp flyers, and we have an additional flyer for Dulaney girls lacrosse to pass along this week. It is attached.

Join us Tuesday for Spring Family Night!!

This Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 is our Spring Family Night. We will have a host of activities for families to enjoy -- from Steel Drum Band performances to coding with Ozbots to a collaborative Student Mural to Recycling Relay and more!! We will be anchored by an interactive STEAM fair in the gym. It is a night that is not to be missed. Please join us! More information is attached!

In partnership,

-Mr. McComb

Students can complete these for any teacher for whom they wish to express appreciation.

Don't forget specials' teachers (Art, Library, PE and Music), kindergarten assistants and all the individuals who are special to your student!
