Is your child Celebrating a Birthday?
Each morning our student led Daily Bark team will announce all birthday's. If your child's birthday falls on a weekend, they will still be announced. Students receive a special pencil and a bookmark on their birthday.
If you would like to celebrate your child's birthday with their class, please understand that due to allergies and snack guidelines, we ask that you do not bring in food items to celebrate birthdays. You are welcome to send in non-snack items for the class to help celebrate your child's birthday if you would like.

Dowell is now a Full School Title I School
What Is Title I?
Title I is a federally funded program that provides additional support to help ensure all students meet high academic standards. These funds are used to strengthen instruction and provide extra academic support where it is most needed.
Schoolwide Title I
In a Schoolwide Title I program, Title I funds are used to support all students and strengthen the overall instructional program at the school.
- All students may benefit from Title I-funded supports
- Funds can be used for whole‑class instruction, small groups, professional development, and enrichment
- The goal is to improve academic outcomes schoolwide
- This model allows for greater flexibility in how resources are used to meet students’ needs
What This Means for Families
Both Title I models are designed to support student learning and growth. The key difference is how services are delivered—either to specific students (Targeted Assistance) or to the entire school community (Schoolwide).
Regardless of the model, our commitment remains the same:
- providing high‑quality instruction
- supporting student achievement
- ensuring equitable access to learning opportunities
