Daniel Feeney Preschool Update

Greetings,

I hope you and your family have a pleasant and healthy April break. As we approach May, we have several exciting spring events planned for the students.

As a reminder, please ensure that your children dress appropriately for the spring weather. Closed-toe sneakers or shoes are preferred to prevent injuries during play on the playground.

Additionally, we cannot apply sunscreen at school. Therefore, please apply sunscreen regularly before attending school, especially as the sun becomes stronger.

Lastly, please label all sweatshirts and jackets to facilitate the return of all clothing items to the school.

This year, lawn signs will be available for purchase for rising Kindergarten students. The sign is in the process of being created and when complete, will be sent to the preschool. Each sign will be $21 and can be purchased either with cash or check payable to the Town of Walpole.

Spring photos will take place on Thursday, May 8. If you would like a photo taken, please email your student's teacher. Spring photos are different from fall photos as they are more playful and fun. More information will be sent home soon.

Please see the start and end times for the 2025-2026 school year. The school year calendar will be available after the May 1 School Committee meeting.

If you have registered your child for Kindergarten screening during DFP hours and require dismissal, kindly email me and your child’s teacher. Parents and caregivers are required to accompany their children to Kindergarten screening, and therefore, DFP staff cannot take children to Elm Street School for their screening time.

If you are interested in helping coordinate some special treats for our amazing DFP staff, please contact me. I hope to make the week extra special for them to say thank you for all they do.

If your family is experiencing financial need and your child would benefit from a summer enrichment activity: swimming, camp, sports, etc. please contact me. All information will be kept confidential.

Please make note of spring conference dates and times. If you are unable to attend these dates, please contact your child's teacher as soon as possible. If you would like to meet with me, I am available.

On Tuesday, June 3 there will be a popsicle event on our playground for students attending Old Post Road School and Fisher School.

On Thursday, June 5 there will be a popsicle event on our playground for students attending Boyden School and Elm Street School.

This is an opportinity for students to get together with future schoolmates and for families to connect with one another. More details will be sent soon.
