STIMULATING LEARNING

We are making the most of the opportunities to learn in school. Class 1 are learning about 'What Happens When I Fall Asleep?' They are learning about the patterns of the stars, and asking questions about the universe. They are also snuggling up with comfy cushions and blankets, listening to bedtime stories and nursery rhymes. Zzz... Wide awake once more, they'll learn about people and services that work at night, the Hubble Telescope and nocturnal animals. They'll also find out more about how good bedtime routines can have a positive impact on our health and take part in a series of bedtime challenges. Class 2's topic to start the Spring term is 'Towers, Tunnels and Turrets.' They are learning about castles, life in castles and are going to design and make their own amazing structures. Class 3's topic this term is 'Misty Mountain Sierra.' The children are learning about, mountains, volcanoes, earthquakes and the water cycle. Class 4's topic this half-term is 'Frozen Kingdom' - finding out about the polar regions and the sinking of the Titanic.

Please take a look at our Home Learning Ideas Sheets on the individual class pages of our website. We know that the knowledge and skills which our children gain whilst in our school will be transferable to other situations. This is critical to their development as individuals.

LISTENING TO YOU

We are very interested in enhancing our use of outdoor learning opportunities across every year group. If you have any experience of working outside in an educational setting e.g. Scouts etc. we'd be very interested to hear from you as we are hoping to become a Forest School in the near future. If you have any time which you may be able to give with the project management phase please get in touch.

Please can we ask for your help regarding payment for school meals and extended school invoices. The office is having to spend valuable time chasing parents who do not pay money promptly. As you may have noticed due to budget pressures we no longer have someone in the office on Thursday and Friday afternoons and admin time is limited.
Thank you for your support and understanding.

CLASS 1

Class 1 recently visited St Nicholas Church at Wetwang as part of their work on special places. The children enjoyed a tour of the church and discussed similarities and differences of their own special places and our school too. They also talked about treating special places with respect. Well done to everyone for their fabulous ideas and observations.

CONGRATULATIONS

Many congratulations to the children who received awards in Collective Worship this week. We are very proud of your fantastic growth mindsets and by your friendly, respectful actions. We'd like to thank all of our amazing pupils for their efforts - we recognise everyone is special and we want them to feel safe to be themselves in our school.
