WEEK 11: October 26 - October 30
🦅 HMS Weekly | October 26–30, 2026
Hello, HMS Families! 💙💛
We are closing out October with an exciting week celebrating Red Ribbon Week! As we head into the final weeks of Trimester 1, let's continue encouraging our Hawks to make positive choices, stay focused on learning, and finish the trimester strong!
❤️ Red Ribbon Week — October 26–30
This week, HMS joins schools across the nation in celebrating Red Ribbon Week, a campaign that encourages students to make healthy, safe, and drug-free choices while promoting positive decision-making.
Let's show our Hawk spirit! 🦅 Be sure to check out our Week at a Glance below for our daily Spirit Dress themes. We encourage all Hawks to participate!
📚 Trimester 1 Ends Friday, November 6!
Take a few minutes to review their Hawk's academic progress through the PowerSchool Parent Portal. This is a great opportunity to check grades, review missing assignments, and talk with your child about finishing the trimester strong!
📬 Trimester 1 report cards will be mailed home.
🚲 Helmet Safety — Protect Your Hawk!
Safety first, Hawks! 💙💛
A friendly reminder that students under 18 are required to wear a properly fitted and fastened helmet when riding a bicycle, e-bike, scooter, or skateboard to and from school.
Please help us keep our Hawks safe by reminding your child to wear a helmet every time they ride.
Protect your head. Wear your helmet! ⛑️
📅 Attendance Matters — Every Day Counts!
As we approach the end of Trimester 1 on November 6, we encourage all Hawks to attend school daily, arrive on time, and finish strong! Did you know that missing just 2 days of school per month can lead to chronic absenteeism? Students are considered chronically absent when they miss 10% or more of the school year, including both excused and unexcused absences.
📸 Picture Retake Day — Thursday, October 29!
Missed Picture Day or need a retake? We've got you covered!
📅 Thursday, October 29, 2026
👕 FREE DRESS for ALL students!
Students may wear free dress on Picture Retake Day, but please remember that our HMS Student Dress Code Policy will still be enforced.
Get those smiles ready, Hawks! 📸
Thank you, HMS Families, for your continued partnership and support! Let's finish October strong and continue making every day count for our Hawks! 💙💛
