Magnificent Mustangs
We were trying to work out a tough math problem in class. Corbin did not give up. He kept trying and working until he got the correct answer! He used what he learned to continue creating his own tough math problems! He told the class how he solved the problem. He showed them that it is important to keep trying, even when the work is difficult!
Alina is always a good listener in class. She does not talk during lessons, but focuses on instruction. She does not distract others and sets a good example.
Kayleigh is always a good listener in class. She does not talk during lessons, but focuses on instruction. She is not distracting to others and sets a good example!
Owen has shown a lot of growth and he should be so proud of himself.
During a STEM challenge activity, Kynsley's partners got frustrated and said they quit. Kynsley said she would never quit and kept working. Kynsley set an excellent example for her classmates that no matter how hard something seems, success comes from pressing on, even when others might stop trying. Way to go, Kynsley!
Holly exemplifies what it means to be respectful, responsible, and safe. She is consistently kind and patient with others, and is an active participant in our school community. She absolutely crushed it in the school play and it is truly an honor and a privilege to be in her presence on a daily basis. It makes others around her feel safe, and models what amazing leadership and positive qualities in a person look like, and sound like.
Sienna consistently demonstrates amazing leadership in the classroom! She is frequently on task, works hard to complete her assignments, manages her time wisely; all while setting a positive example for others! It shows remarkable responsibility!
Without being asked, Chase , Brooklyn , Savannah rushed to help a student who spilled their milk at breakfast.
Harlie is always willing to lend a helping hand to her classmates. She helps many students as a peer coach when Ms. Simpson is working with students during small group instruction throughout the school day. She is a great Mustang citizen!
From the start of the school year, Kayleigh repeatedly asked how she could assist me in the classroom. Despite students being given different jobs to create ownership in our classroom community, Kayleigh had a strong desire to be helpful to me by taking a job off my plate. Kayleigh started heling change the heading on the board each day. When Kayleigh was absent one day, Avery and Kinsli made sure the heading was switched for me. Since then, the girls have worked together to make sure the new date, special, and student VIP was changed daily, even when a guest teacher is in the room.
Evie (not pictured) had to complete two testing sessions in one day! This was not an easy task, but she pushed through and persevered and she should be so proud of herself!
Joe Corbi's Delivery Day - April 7
Four volunteers are needed to help sort out the family orders. Whoo hoo, we sold more items than last year’s fundraiser! This year we have to sort 400 items for our families. If you are available to volunteer starting at noon on Monday, April 7th, please contact Robin Post at rmpost@smcps.org or 301-472-4800.
