Kindergarten Farm Day

On Tuesday, October 20th our Kindergarteners got an up close look at the farm right here at the Hoyle School. Thank you to Stony Creek Farm, Kelley's Grain, and Johnson's Farm for your generous donations. Thank you to the PTO for supporting this event and our parent volunteers for helping us out! We had a great afternoon of farm exploration!

Halloween Safety and Bullying with Officer Gaspar

On Wednesday, October 21st, Officer Gaspar taught everyone all about two very important topics.

1. Halloween Safety - Preschool - Grade 2 all learned how we could be "Spooky and Safe" by following the 4 S's (Stay, Streets, See, Say)

  • Stay with our grown up
  • Use sidewalks, not streets to walk
  • Wear bright colors to be seen
  • Speak up if we get lost or feel uncomfortable
2. Bullying - Kindergarten - Grade 2 learned how to Recognize, Respond, and Report bullying. We also learned how to be an upstander and how to be kind to others so that bullying doesn't even happen. We also learned about the difference between bullying and bothering and how to get help no matter what.

Thank you Officer Gaspar - we appreciate you!

Cranberry Sauce with Chef Oliveira

Chef Oliveira - also known as Mrs. Oliveira visited our grade 2 classrooms on Thursday, October 22nd to make homemade cranberry sauce. Not only did we make a yummy treat but we also learned about the four different kinds of squash, how to follow a recipe, and some math too! Plus, we got a try a new treat. Some of us liked it, some of us will pass next time.

Thank you Chef Oliveira - we appreciate you!

Grade 1 at the Planetarium

On Thursday, grade 1 traveled to the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium at RWP Zoo where they were able to participate in a rocket building activity and watch a show in the planetarium.

Thank you to the grade 1 chaperones and teachers for making this possible - we appreciate you!

Food Drive - Coming Soon! Food Drive - Coming Soon!

Hoyl School Food Drive Starts November 2

Dear Hoyle Families,

Our school is collecting non-perishable food to benefit our local food pantry. We would like to encourage as many of our students as possible to participate. We are asking each grade to bring in a different food item. The grade that brings in the most items will be rewarded with extra recess!

Here are the items that we are requesting from each grade:

Preschool - pasta & sauce

Kindergarten - cereal & stuffing

First Grade - peanut butter & jelly

Second Grade - canned goods (tuna, soups, veggies, etc.)

Please do not send in any perishable items or glass jars.

Please remember to check the expiration dates.

Thank you for your support! We are thankful to be a part of such a caring community!

~Sincerely, The Hoyle School Family

Counseling Tip of the Week!

It's okay to ask for help!

As children grow, they are learning to do more things independently, but that doesn't mean they have to do everything on their own! Asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Remind your child that everyone needs help sometimes, and trusted adults are there to support them when something feels difficult or confusing.

Try it at home: Ask your child, “What could you do if something feels too hard to do on your own?” Practice identifying trusted adults they can turn to for help at school and at home.
