Hello Families,

It’s been a busy and exciting week! Thank you to our staff, students, and families for all you do to make our school community strong and supportive.

As we continue working together to create a respectful and positive learning environment, I’d like to share an important update about student behavior during recess and in the hallways. Recently, we have noticed an increase in behavior concerns, including students not following adult directions, using unkind language, and showing a lack of respect toward staff members—especially our paraprofessionals. Our paraprofessionals play an important role in supporting students throughout the day, and they deserve the same respect as every adult in our school.

We are reminding students that expectations remain the same: follow directions the first time, keep hands and feet to themselves, walk appropriately in the hallways, and use respectful words and actions with both peers and adults. We appreciate your support at home by talking with your child about making good choices during recess and transitions, and treating all staff members with kindness and respect. Thank you for working with us to help keep our school a supportive and positive place for everyone.

As Valentine’s Day approaches, I’d also like to remind families that we do not allow Valentine’s that include food or candy to be passed out in classrooms due to student allergies. Paper Valentines are the best option. Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

Congratulations to all of our Spelling Bee winners! We are so proud of your hard work, dedication, and courage to compete. You did an amazing job. We wish you the best of luck on Tuesday for the final competition at Morris.
