Celebrating Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month

Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month: Honoring Culture & Identities

September 15 – October 15 is a time to celebrate the rich contributions of Hispanic and Latinx communities. This month also reminds us of the importance of intersectionality—how aspects of identity like race, culture, language, gender, and disability shape unique experiences.

For example, being both Hispanic/Latinx and Deaf, Hard of Hearing, or DeafBlind adds layers that influence how one navigates the world. Honoring these intersections helps build a more inclusive community where everyone feels seen and valued.

A large, illuminated sign reads "Nightmare Factory" in bold, jagged letters, with the word "Nightmare" in glowing orange and "Factory" in metallic blue. The sign is surrounded by eerie industrial-themed props like large gears, chains, and metal structures. The scene is bathed in dramatic lighting, with a mix of purple, blue, and orange hues, and fog adding a spooky atmosphere to the setting.
