Nearly 100 CMS 6th Graders attended our 6th Grade Activity Night!! Our WEB Leaders, along with their advisors, planned out a great afternoon of fun!! Face painting, crafts, musical chairs, a Jelly Bean Estimation jar, some gym time, a scavenger hunt and more were options available!! Great afternoon last Friday, October 23!!

You can take the teacher out of the classroom, but you can't take the classroom out of the teacher, and in this case that was former CMS teacher Dan Jakovich!! Mr. Jakovich visited a few CMS students on a beautiful Friday morning, along with the star of the show, Stella! He did a nice job embedding our character traits - dog care/responsibility, self-discpine with training, compassion and understanding when they need don't respond how we think they should, and love and respect while becoming a best friend. He included students in helping him show all that Stella could do retrieving in a variety of settings and situations. Thank you Mr. Fuhol for getting this organized!

I really liked his opening line...the best time to get a dog is....anytime!!

Cambridge Middle School would like to honor veterans in our students' lives with a slideshow of those who have served in our community. This video will pay tribute to the sacrifices made by our veterans and express gratitude for their service.

Veterans Day Slideshow Submission

Please add your submission by Monday, November 2nd. The slideshow will be shared with all students during Advisory/Livestream on the day prior to Veteran's Day (November 10) and run on monitors throughout CMS the rest of the week . A link to the slideshow will also be shared in a future family newsletter. Note: If you submitted photos last year, please resubmit if you'd like to be included again this year.

On Thursday, November 5th, the Lions KidSight Foundation will be at CMS to conduct a vision screening for 7th graders utilizing spot screener technology. These screenings produce images of a child's eye to determine the presence of eye disorders including far-and near-sightedness, astigmatism, anisometropia (unequal reactive power), misaligned eyes, cataracts, and amblyopia (lazy eye). No physical contact is made with a child and no drops are used during the vision screening. This screening is approximately 95% effective in detecting problems that cause reduced vision.

If your student is a 6th or 8th grader and you would like them added to the screening, please contact Alicia Hannan (school nurse) at 763-552-6313.

CMS PTO is looking for parents/guardians that would be interested in attending CMS PTO Meetings. They are held the first Monday of the month in the CMS Media Center. Our next meeting is November 2.

Concerts at CMS are coming up soon. Below are the dates and times.

Concerts are held in the CMS Cafetorium. Students should arrive an half hour before their scheduled time. Please wear black pants/skirts and white tops. These concerts are part of their regular work and their concert attendance is a required part of their grade.
