Need to Know Need to Know

  • A few parents have asked about sending alternate snacks in the place of our fresh fruit and veggies. We would like to maintain the integrity of our new program. Allowing alternative snacks takes away from the program. While we understand that not all students like the fruits and veggies offered, please note that the cafeteria staff are working to offer more of a variety in the future as supply is available.
  • We will be participating in celebrating Veteran's Day and Red Ribbon Week. Be on the look out for more information to come.
  • All water bottles need to have a closing lid and only contain water
  • We will be enforcing the dress code in the handbook. Please review the guidelines.

ESSA School Index Report Cards ESSA School Index Report Cards

School reports cards were released this week. We at EEI have already broken down the data and started making plans on how we can positively increase our score. While the calculation of the score is complicated, we want to be as transparent as possible with our families. We believe that we can all play a part in increasing our score so that we are better serving our students. If you have any questions about our scores and the plans we are putting into place, please contact Dr. Binz or Mrs. Teague.

EEI Positive Reward System EEI Positive Reward System

Each month students and staff work to earn Student of the Month, Class of the Month, Staff of the Month, and Counseling Class of the Month. These are awarded at the Monthly Morning Meeting.

Each quarter, students can earn a school wide reward for positive behavior, attendance, participation in Lexia/Zearn, and good grades.

Students were introduced to the rewards system during the first week of school and are able to track their progress during biweekly student conferencing with homeroom teachers.

Notice from athletic department Notice from athletic department

Expectations for all Sheridan students at athletic events:

1. All students should remain in the stadium/arena upon arrival. No re-entry to the event once the venue is exited.

2. All students should remain in supervised areas. No exiting to the practice football field or hallways.

3. All students should remain in the stands, clearing walkways and stairs at all times

4. No one in grades lower than 5th should be at an athletic event without adult supervision from a parent, guardian, or family friend.

Traffic Flow Traffic Flow

Please make sure that you follow the traffic flow to ensure that ALL students stay safe, and the lines move quickly.

  • We close the gate at 9:30 a.m. and do not open it until 2:15 p.m. We do have an alarm set and will open it as soon as possible. This is a safety measure for our students.
  • Leave space for buses to exit the pull through and stop far enough back (behind the mailbox on the right) so bus drivers can exit onto Sawmill
  • In the morning, you will not be able to turn left onto Sawmill from 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m.
  • Have your tag available and in full view so we can keep the line moving

Immunization Reminder

Letters have been sent home for students that are missing immunizations. These immunizations should be obtained by October 1st. Jacket Health and Wellness can provide these for students if needed by appointments only. On the letter there is a QR code that takes you to the website to make an appointment and fill out the enrollment paperwork. Please let me know if you have any questions.

OTC Medications

SSD policy states that over-the-counter medications (Tylenol, ibuprofen, Benadryl, etc.) cannot be given at school without a doctor's order. See page 165 of the student handbook. If you need the form sent home with your child, please let me know and I can provide it. As a reminder, students cannot carry medication on their person. All medications must be given to the nurse or administration by an adult.
