Principal's Weekly Update #34

Dear Wales Families,

UPK parents- if you haven't returned the DIAL screening parent input form, please do so by Tuesday. We need this form completed by a caregiver in order to complete our Kindergarten screening process.

Wales students will enjoy Field Day on Friday, June 20th hosted by Mrs. Klein! PTO is assisting with securing parent/guardian volunteers and will be providing a hot dog lunch for all students. Note that this is a full day event - please only sign up to help if you are available from 8:15am - 3:30pm. In order to maintain safety, only those parents volunteering are allowed to attend field day.

To provide shade in rest areas, several Pop-Up Tents are requested. If you have one to loan for the day, please drop off the morning of (June 20th) or on June 18th (no school on the 19th).

The Intermediate building is asking that all parents of 3rd grade parents complete a parent feedback form. This form gives families an opportunity to provide input about their child, which will help us make thoughtful and informed class placements for next school year. The deadline for completing the form is May 30th. Please click on the link below to access the form.

Mr. Harding asked us to share that the 3rd Grade Transition Letters will be sent home in backpacks with your student. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 27th at 6:00 PM in the MS Auditorium. We have also attached a copy of the letter below.

Pre-Prom Event that will take place in the high school parking lot, at the north end by the tennis courts on Wednesday, May 28th starting at approximately 1:00 p.m.. Seniors will attend a State Police presentation on drinking & driving / distracted driving. They will then head outside where there will be a staged car accident which will prompt the response of Jamison and Elma Fire Departments to the north end lot. Part of the presentation will be Mercy Flight coming and landing at the staged accident around 2pm. This is a Pre-Prom educational event, a simulated drill to help educate students of the dangers of drinking & distracted driving before the prom season.
