MASA eUpdate
June 18, 2025
On Thursday, June 19, we honor Juneteenth, a day that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States and celebrates Black freedom and resilience. We encourage all school leaders to reflect on this history and continue fostering inclusive, equitable learning communities.
MASA offices will be closed on June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

New Superintendents and Administrators Wanted!
Seven Full-Day Sessions
July 2025 - April 2026
Registration is now open for the 2025-26 MASA Great Start Cohort for new superintendents and administrators! Great Start Cohort members will have the opportunity to meet other new leaders, receive information from seasoned leaders, and develop practical skills designed to help them be successful in the first year of their new position. Whether participants are first-time superintendents or experienced superintendents new to Minnesota, this seven-session workshop series is a wonderful opportunity to address the challenges of a new superintendency together with others in similar situations.
If you are aware of any new superintendents or administrators in your region, encourage them to register!
Action Requested: Minnesota Dual Enrollment Survey
The Minnesota P-20 Education Partnership is leading our state’s participation in the Next Phase of Dual Enrollment Policy national cohort. As part of this work, they are developing a proposed statewide vision for dual enrollment and are seeking broad input in this process.
On behalf of the Minnesota Next Phase Dual Enrollment Planning Team, you are invited to participate in a 15-minute survey about your thoughts on dual enrollment in Minnesota. The results of this survey will be used to help inform this important work. Please note that MSBA will be sharing this survey with their school board members.
Survey Information & Deadline
Please complete the survey prior to Monday, July 7 at 4:00 pm by clicking here. The survey is being hosted and collected through the planning team’s partner, the University of Minnesota. All responses are anonymous.
Share Your Insight!
As MASA prepares for next year’s Aspiring Superintendents Academy and Great Start Cohort, we want to ensure these experiences truly support the needs of future superintendents. As a currently serving superintendent, your perspective is invaluable.
What knowledge, skills, and experiences do you believe are most important for future colleagues as they prepare to step into the superintendent role?
We recognize that no program can fully prepare someone for every challenge of the superintendency—but with your feedback, we can shape learning experiences that are meaningful, relevant, and grounded in the realities of the work. Please take a moment to share your thoughts here.
