PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR PUPILS
Pupils in each class are given opportunities to grow and we are proud that we are able to help them to flourish in all ways. We enable children to demonstrate that they are responsible in different ways:
- Through their learning
- Helping with jobs in class
- Helping with jobs in school
(These opportunities are supported and modelled and depend on a child's age.)
Children in each class also vote for members of:
- The Collective Worship Team
- The School Council
Older pupils are also able to demonstrate they are responsible and superb role models through:
- Helping to run the library
- Acting as Playground Leaders
- In the summer term, we also run the Archbishop of York's Young Leaders' Programme classes 2 and 3.
BEHAVIOUR
At this time of year it is always useful to share with you our Behaviour Policy; especially, as our youngest pupils are new to school.
We spend time in school teaching our children about making the right choices. We always aim to catch them being good and this rubs off on other children who copy this positive behaviour.
We also use reminders to prompt pupils about the expectations as we all need these from time to time.
We discuss with pupils whether they understand the expectations. They tell us that our system is clear and fair. This policy is due to be reviewed by governors shortly as part of their work. It will remain the same this year.
If you have any questions or comments about the Behaviour Policy, please let us know at sledmere@eastriding.gov.uk
Thank-you.
