Patriot Family Gazette 9/13/24

Patriot Families,

Dr. Bryan C. Jack holds a special place in the heart of our campus. As our school namesake, and Tyler ISD alum, we were honored to be able to observe Patriot Day as a tradition on our campus. We are an official 9/11 Memorial site, and every year we have the opportunity to reflect on this event, as well as learn about the foundation of leadership that Dr. Bryan C. Jack represented. As a Leader in Me school with a Legacy recognition, we have to remember the LEGACY that Dr. Jack left. It was a LEGACY of leadership. This represents our campus mission statement and the missions statements of every Leader we have the opportunity to impact. The Legacy we leave, Building Leaders of Tomorrow, will forever echo what Dr. Bryan C. Jack stood for. It was awesome celebrating and honoring our namesake, first responders and Veterans this week. It may have looked a little different, but we still Lead the Way through the rain!

Next week we have our Leadership Signing Day on September 19th, 20th, and 23rd (see schedule below), as well as our annual Open House event, on September 19th (see times below), where our staff will review curriculum, expectations and Leader in Me at our campus.

To wrap up the month we will have our fall book fair September 23rd-27th, culminating with one of our favorite events, Grandfriend's Day on September 27th (see information below).

- We cannot release kids after 2:45 due to dismissal procedures. If you have appointments, please make arrangements to pick up by this time.

- If you are dropping off before 7:15, please use the back loop. This area is staffed and students are directed to the cafe or gym. After 7:15, our front loop will be open.

Sharpen the Saw Club is one of our favorite activities that we do for our Leaders here at Jack! This is a chance for our students to explore passions and participate in clubs outside of the regular curriculum that happens day to day. We meet 6-7 times a year and some of the clubs are really creative! We've had pickle ball, golf, LEGOS, robotics and more! Mr. Malone is looking to host a Vintage Gaming Club this year and is looking for donations of "old working TVs." The TVs will need to have the capability to connect to a vintage gaming system with the coaxial cable. If you have one of these vintage TVs sitting in a closet and would like to make a donation please reach out to Justin.Malone@tylerisd.org. Thanks!
