July 2023

Such an exciting time of year when the parish garden is thriving. I love seeing the volunteers tending to their plots and harvesting squash, beans, and zucchini for our food bank guests. When humans aren't around, we also have frequent visits from bunnies and bees. What simple joys do you experience during summer?

BellaSmiles

One of our parishioners runs a nonprofit to help families with developmental disabilities.

BellaSmiles for Developmental Disabilities is a nonprofit primarily serving children and families affected by the ongoing challenges associated with Developmental Disabilities in Uganda. Here in the US, the organization is forging a way to assist families of color in general and those of Ugandan original in particular. Learn more on the website.

Death of Chocolate

By 2050, someone could be eating the last piece of chocolate. The Fairtrade Foundation estimates that by 2050, cocoa-producing regions will become too warm for cultivation. The good news is that farmers who protect the environment can delay that from happening. Visit www.crs.org for more information!

"Climate change is a global problem with grave implications… It represents one of the principal challenges facing humanity in our day." ~ Pope Francis, Laudato Si (Papal Encyclical), Paragraph 25
