Welcome Back Message from Dr. Coombs
We are very excited to start the new school year. The school year has already started for many of our extracurricular activities. If your child is not already involved please encourage them to find a club or activity that interests them. Students who are engaged within clubs and activities will find new friends and will perform better academically. If you are unsure of what to join please visit our web page for a list of activities.
One of the best weeks of the school year will be approaching fast, HOMECOMING WEEK. Homecoming week is September 22nd - September 26th. We will have fun activities throughout the week for the students and community to show their school pride. ROLL TIDE!
The start of the year is always filled with excitement and some nervousness. If we can assist you or your student in anyway please reach out to us and we are happy to help. Here is to a great 25-26 school year!

First Day Information
First Day of School - September 2nd
The start of the school year is just around the corner! We are very excited to welcome students back to campus on September 2nd!
The first day of classes is Tuesday, September 2nd at 7:50am.
All freshmen should be here from 7:50am to 3:05pm and the rest of the student body will join us from 12:00pm to 3:05pm.
School Supplies
There is no specific school supply list for the high school because it can vary so much from student to student depending on their classes and preferred methods of organization. It is recommended that they have a planner or notebook for the first day of classes to write down any supplies their teachers ask them to get for their classes.
Opportunities for Student Involvement
Get Involved, Get Connected!
Research shows that when students participate in organized activities—like sports, clubs, music, volunteering, or leadership—they benefit in big ways:
✔️ Higher self-esteem
✔️ Increased resilience
✔️ Better grades
✔️ Greater school engagement
Encourage your student to find something that sparks their interest this year! Whether it's a club, team, or service opportunity, being involved creates a sense of belonging and helps students develop essential life skills like time management, prioritization, and commitment.
🎉 Stop by our Activities Table at Back-to-School Night!
We’ll have information about the wide range of opportunities available at EHS. Come ask questions, explore options, and help your student start the year strong!

Attendance Matters!
As we begin the school year, we want to emphasize how critical regular attendance is to student success. Being in class each day not only supports academic achievement, but also builds important habits that prepare students for life beyond high school.
When students miss school—whether it’s a full day or just a class period—they miss valuable instruction, discussion, and connection. Chronic absenteeism (missing 10% or more of the school year) can lead to lower grades, decreased engagement, and even impact graduation and post-high school opportunities.
Let’s work together to build strong attendance habits from day one. If your student is struggling to get to school or facing challenges, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help.
To report absences please either call or email us at ehsattendance@edgerton.k12.wi.us or (608)561-6020 and press 1 to leave a message on the attendance line.
For specific attendance policies please visit the Edgerton School District website.
Homebase
Each student is assigned to a Homebase which they will be a part of for the four years they are at EHS. Homebase meets everyday at the end of the day for 15 minutes. Many important topics, lessons, and fun activities are planned for this year! Attending Homebase is required and attendance is taken.
Medication
If over the counter or prescription medication is taken at school, a form must be filled out. This form is available on the school district website or in the main office. This can be completed at Back to School night.
Parking Pass
If your student will need a parking pass for the 2025-26 School Year, please contact Tiffany Bacon. Please note that all fees and detentions must be paid/served before the student will be allowed to purchase a parking pass.
Picture Day
Picture retakes/makeups will be announced later.

Student Handbook
The family-school partnership is essential for student success. When families and schools work together, students benefit both academically and emotionally. Together, we can provide the consistent support your student needs to thrive—at school and at home. By staying connected, sharing goals, and communicating regularly, we can create a strong foundation that helps your student feel supported, motivated, and confident throughout the school year.
Please access the Student Handbook below. Policies specific to EHS students start on page 28. Please pay attention to and discuss the following with your student:
- Cell Phones
- Use of earbuds at school
- Detentions
- Bullying/Harassment
- Consequences of using substances or being under the influence of substances at school
- Importance of attending school everyday and being to class on time
If you have any questions regarding these items, please do not hesitate to reach out to Dr. Mark Coombs or Mrs. Lynne Veitenheimer at (608) 561-6020.
