Keep our OWLS Safe! Please Use Caution! Keep our OWLS Safe! Please Use Caution!

We strive to make our arrival and dismissal process as smooth as possible so we can keep our 650+ Miller Owls safe! Please keep the following in mind:

  • Please stay off your cell phones! Cell phone use is ALWAYS illegal in a school zone!
  • The drive-thru lane is for drop-off ONLY. Please do not exit your vehicle during arrival or dismissal. This causes traffic jams and can create major delays and unsafe situations. If you need to visit with your child's teacher or unbuckle/buckle your child into a car seat, please park on a side street and walk up.
  • Please SLOW DOWN and respect our crosswalk volunteers!
  • Join our OWL GUARD to help with the crosswalks during arrival! This is a wonderful way to help keep our Miller Owls safe and it takes less than 30 minutes of your day!

  • Lubbock ISD offers free breakfast and lunch to ALL enrolled students! Breakfast will be available for 3rd-5th graders in the cafeteria until after announcements each day. Breakfast will be served in the classroom for Pre-K through 2nd-grade students.

  • Breakfast and Lunch menus can be found on the Lubbock ISD App. Click HERE to download the LISD app. Menus are updated daily!

  • Students may choose to have a lunch from our school cafeteria or they may bring a lunch from home. Please keep in mind, that we do not have microwaves for students to heat up their lunch.

  • Parents may drop off lunch anytime for students. Lunches should be dropped off in the office and should be labeled with the child's name and grade level.

  • Parents are welcome to eat with their children any day of the week except on state testing days. Parents may sit at the tables in the hallway outside of the cafeteria since space is limited inside the cafeteria. Please refrain from sharing food with other children. This is never allowed during lunch.

  • Depending on the grade level, students are allowed to purchase snack items from the cafeteria on certain days of the week. Examples of items that can be purchased are ice cream, chips, water bottles, and cookies. Please check with your child's teacher or the cafeteria manager for more specific details.

Our cafeteria manager can be reached at (806) 219-8159 to answer any questions about food allergies, adding money into your child's account for extras, etc.

During the first two weeks of August, students and staff will be learning about our standard response protocol for emergencies such as fire evacuation, severe weather, and lockdown. Throughout the year, students and staff will practice these drills. Mrs. Archer will talk about the drill on the announcements before the school-wide practice begins. Teachers will facilitate age-appropriate discussions with students about safety throughout the year.
