GT Student Leadership 1 GT Student Leadership 1

Students finished up their "Before I Go to College" assignment, where they’ve taken time to reflect on and begin learning important life skills they’ll need for independent living. It's important they learn practical life skills that will help them navigate daily responsibilities like changing a tire, cooking, using a weed wacker, replacing a fire detector battery, mowing the lawn, sewing, changing a ceiling fan, or tying a tie. A heartfelt thank you to the parents and family members who took the time to teach and demonstrate these valuable tasks. Your guidance plays a key role in helping students feel more confident and capable as they step into this next chapter.

In GT 1, students have been developing important real-world financial skills through a future budget challenge. Students explored career choices, projected salaries, monthly expenses, student loans, savings goals, and the true cost of living independently. Through this hands-on experience, they learned how to create and manage a realistic budget, prioritize needs versus wants, and make informed financial decisions that will impact their future.
