Learning Corner
October has been a busy month of learning and growing in Pre-K! We have continued practicing our daily classroom schedule, building independence through completing tasks on our own, and learning what it means to be part of our classroom community. We have also been exploring our names and the first letters in them through name tracing, fun name songs, and activities that help us recognize and learn the names of our friends. Along the way, we have been strengthening our fine motor skills through hands-on sensory activities and fun learning experiences that help build the little muscles in our hands. These important skills will help prepare our little learners for future academic tasks, including writing, drawing, and using classroom tools. We are so proud of all the progress our Pre-K friends are making as they learn, grow, and become more independent each day! 🧡
Proud Moments
Introducing our Kindness Jar:
In our classroom, we are learning that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference! Our Kindness Jar is a way to celebrate students when they show kindness, help a friend, share, use kind words, take turns, and make positive choices. Each time we notice these thoughtful actions, we earn pom-poms to add to our jar! As the jar fills up, we will celebrate our hard work as a classroom community. We are so proud of our little learners for growing not only as students, but also as kind, caring friends! We have officially filled our jar, and our planning our first little celebration ( flyer to come for our PJ & Stuffy party! Ways to Engage: Home to School Communication
Are you wondering what we are up to in the classroom? Do you ask your child about their day, and they can't remember what they did? Do they just say they played or did nothing.......
Importance of Play:
We focus on intentional play, as the foundational pieces of how our youngest learners learn, is through building brain connections, exploring different materials and developing critical social, emotional and physical skills. The root for a successful learning road ahead!
