A Message from Principal Anita O'Neill A Message from Principal Anita O'Neill

December 21, 2025

Dear Coyote Community,

This is the final newsletter of 2025, and I truly cannot believe that 2026 is already knocking on our door. Time has flown by this school year, and I think that is because Clarksburg High School is always filled with energy, creativity, and purpose. There is rarely a day that goes by without students leading and participating in something meaningful — whether it’s a class scavenger hunt, a food drive, our December to Remember spirit month (with two more days to go—see the calendar below -- I've got my PJs ready for Tuesday!), or a video celebrating the positive moments in our lives. CHS is truly a wonderful place to be.

As we head into winter break, I want to wish everyone a peaceful, restful, and safe time away. I sincerely wish everyone Happy Holidays. If you are traveling to visit family or friends, I hope the weather cooperates and that your journeys — both there and back — are smooth. If you are staying close to home, I hope you find time to slow down and enjoy the moments that often get crowded out during our busy schedules.

I say this often because it is always true: I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve the Clarksburg community. Thank you for the joy, trust, and partnership you bring to our school. Here’s to a wonderful final week of 2025 and a refreshing winter break ahead.

Warmly,

Ms. O'Neill

Youth Leaders Program Presentations

On Wednesday, students participating in our Bridge to Wellness Youth Leaders Program presented their service projects to a room full of guests. Throughout the first semester, these students conducted research, implemented their initiatives, and thoughtfully prepared for their presentations. The three projects focused on a clothing drive to support community members in need, the research and organization of after-school activity information to support families of Fox Chapel Elementary School, and the development of resources to promote menstrual health within our student body. The students did an outstanding job bringing their projects to life and presenting their work with confidence and purpose.

Posse Scholarship Recipient

Congratulations to Kendra Ndongo for receiving a full tuition and books scholarship from the Posse Foundation to attend the University of Rochester. Kendra advanced through multiple rounds of evaluations, ultimately becoming a finalist and being selected for this prestigious award. She was chosen in recognition of her exceptional leadership, strong collaborative skills, and outstanding academic performance.

The Posse Scholarship program is a prestigious, four-year full-tuition leadership scholarship awarded to high school students who demonstrate exceptional leadership potential, academic promise, and a commitment to teamwork and community. Rather than focusing solely on grades and test scores, Posse identifies diverse young leaders through a unique nomination and assessment process and places them in supportive cohorts of peers, known as possess, to attend college together. Scholars also receive pre-college training, ongoing mentoring, and career support to help them thrive in college and beyond.
